Position Summary

Position provides reporting, budgeting, analytical, and accounting support to the Department of Anesthesiology; provides tools and services required for sound financial and accounting decisions, making recommendations where appropriate.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides assistance, guidance and support to business directors of assigned divisions and management on the financial and accounting functions in conjunction with GAAP and University accounting policies and procedures.
  • Collects, analyzes and maintains complex cost data to complete the quarter-end and year-end closing of the financial reports used by management.  Provides necessary interpretation and explanation of financial results as needed to peers and leadership.
  • Participates in development, preparation, review and evaluation of the department’s annual strategic planning and budgeting process. May provide project management in support of unique and on-going initiatives.
  • Provides standard and ad hoc reports using various reporting tools, supplying variance analysis and benchmarking information; determines current and long-term reporting needs for the department and creates reports for frequently requested data.
  • Assists with development and utilization of complex financial models and analysis, develops and maintains financial reports and reporting systems, responds to special request and projects, identifies, gathers, assesses and analyzes data used in making decisions and makes decisions where appropriate; incorporated data and ideas into either formal or informal reports, presenting resolution to issues or problems; remains educated in new applications to ensure effective and efficient delivery of information.
  • May assist with other duties as assigned by Business Operation Manager

Salary Range

$58,400.00 - $99,700.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
