Bring your energy to Aggreko as Project Electrical Technician, who will responsible for the advanced commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of gas generator sets, with a strong emphasis on Jenbacher engines. This role requires a deep technical understanding, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to ensuring optimal performance and reliability of Aggreko's power generation equipment, contributing directly to our operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

What you’ll do as Project Electrical Technician:

  • Perform complex diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls on gas generator sets, specializing in Jenbacher engines. 

  • Conduct preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of electrical and control systems Low voltage and high voltage. 

  • Lead the commissioning and decommissioning of gas power generation equipment at customer sites. 

  • Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Aggreko's safety policies and industry standards. 

  • Utilize specialized tools and diagnostic software to identify and resolve technical issues. 

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced technicians. 

  • Maintain accurate service records, documentation, and reports on all maintenance activities. 

  • Collaborate with engineering, sales, and project management teams to deliver seamless service solutions. 

  • Manage spare parts inventory and requisitions effectively. 

  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with new technologies and equipment. 

You are:

  • Electrical Expertise: Extensive experience (typically 5+ years) as an Electrical Technician, specifically with power generation equipment. 

  • Engine Specialization: 

  • Preferred: Proven primary experience with Jenbacher gas engines. 

  • Alternative: Extensive experience with other large-scale gas generator engines (e.g., Waukesha, Caterpillar, MTU, Rolls-Royce, etc.). 

  • Certifications: 

  • Mandatory: FTB (Field Technician Basic) Certification. 

  • Mandatory: CE1 (Commissioning Engineer 1) Certification. 

  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of gas engine electrical systems, transformers, other HV equipment.  

  • Diagnostic Tools: Proficient in using specialized diagnostic tools and software for engine analysis and troubleshooting. 

  • Safety Acumen: Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and practices. 

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Travel: Ability to travel frequently, often on short notice, to various customer sites. 

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in various weather conditions, and perform duties in challenging industrial environments. 

  • Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 

  • Experience with Aggreko-specific equipment and systems. 

  • Experience in a field service role. 

  • Certifications: CE1 and CE2 Certification.
