Bering’s is hiring Seasonal Lawn & Garden and Hardlines Associates (hardware, plumbing, electrical, paint) to support our Houston stores during our busiest season. We’re looking for friendly, dependable people who enjoy helping customers tackle projects, find the right tools and materials, create beautiful outdoor spaces, and make the most of life at home.

Whether you consider yourself handy, enjoy gardening, love grilling, have experience in a trade, or simply have a natural curiosity for how things work, we want to meet you. • An interest in DIY projects, home improvement, gardening, grilling, outdoor living, or practical problem-solving.
• A helpful, customer-first attitude and the ability to communicate clearly with customers and teammates.
• Retail, sales, customer service, home-improvement, gardening, hardware, paint, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, grilling, or trade experience is helpful—but not required.
• A willingness to learn product knowledge and help customers make informed decisions.
• Dependability, strong attendance, initiative, and comfort working in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Basic math and computer skills, with the ability to learn point-of-sale and inventory-related systems.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays, based on seasonal business needs.

Requirements

What You’ll Do

• Welcome customers and create a helpful, personal shopping experience.
• Ask questions to understand each customer’s project, then recommend products and solutions with confidence.
• Assist customers with merchandise across Lawn & Garden and Hardlines, including hardware, paint, plumbing, electrical, grilling, outdoor living, and seasonal products.
• Share general product knowledge, helpful project tips, and complementary-item recommendations.
• Keep displays clean, organized, stocked, priced, and ready for customers.
• Assist with receiving, unpacking, stocking, replenishing, and organizing merchandise in the sales floor and stockroom.
• Support seasonal displays, promotions, inventory tasks, and other store needs.

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Duties may include standing and walking for extended periods; bending, reaching, kneeling, and using ladders or step stools; pushing carts; and lifting or carrying merchandise up to 40 pounds.
