Job Summary**
The Test Operator III is responsible for performing advanced functional and diagnostic testing on server and storage hardware components and systems. This role ensures products meet quality standards and specifications before shipment.
Job Responsibilities**
* Perform complex functional and diagnostic tests on server boards, systems, and related components using various testing equipment and software.
* Configure and troubleshoot test environments, including network connections, operating systems, and specialized applications.
* Analyze test results, identify failures, and accurately document findings using internal tracking systems.
* Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve technical issues and improve test processes.
* Conduct root cause analysis for test failures and recommend corrective actions.
* Assist in the development and validation of new test procedures and scripts.
* Train and mentor less experienced test operators on established testing protocols and best practices.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety regulations.
* Operate and maintain specialized test equipment, performing routine calibration and troubleshooting as needed.
Job Qualifications**
* High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in a technical field preferred.
* 5+ years of experience in hardware testing, preferably in server, storage, or PC manufacturing.
* Strong understanding of server architecture, components (CPUs, RAM, HDDs/SSDs, RAID controllers), and operating systems (Linux, Windows Server).
* Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software (e.g., POST diagnostics, memory testers, drive utilities).
* Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and test plans.
* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for documenting issues and collaborating with team members.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
* Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus.
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
