Job Description:

The Technology Support Technician participates in a variety of elevated supportive functions for all College-owned computers, laptops, peripherals and software for student, faculty, and staff end-users in computing spaces, classrooms and libraries, and supports onboarding workers for network and telecommunications. This position participates in installation, upgrades, and maintenance of all end-user computer equipment (including lab and classroom instruction computers and audio-visual equipment) and software, ensuring all end-user files are properly backed up and all application software is reinstalled and functioning properly.  The Technology Support Technician must possess strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to be detail-oriented in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment; excellent problem-solving skills, including researching for technical inquiries, and providing solutions; and demonstrate a positive attitude and excellent customer service skills.  This position requires availability to work evening, weekend, and/or occasional holiday hours as determined by the supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an institution that holds accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and approved by the College with an associate degree, and two years’ experience supporting networked computers in a large enterprise computing environment. Progressively responsible experience in supporting computers may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education. Successful results of criminal background check are required.

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations.  Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position.  A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.

Annual Salary: $34,675.00 ($17.79/hour)
