Job Function: In the absence of the Shift Supervisor, the lead position serves as a role model and is responsible for all aspects of the operation within the department to include following all safety rules, company guidelines and GMP’s.  The lead position requires the ability to work all shifts and all days of the week as needed. The lead is expected to efficiently and effectively communicate all instructions given by the Shift Supervisor.

Schedule: 5:00AM to 1:30PM (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday)  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively with Shift Supervisors, Manager, and employees to ensure successful production runs.
  • Maintain an open dialogue with the Shift Supervisor, keeping him/her advised of changes, problems and accomplishments.
  • Follow the chain-of –command and documentation in all matters requiring supervisory involvement.
  • Assist with training and integrating of new employees to the department.
  • Take the lead in promoting safety within the department and take an active role in assisting with accident investigations as needed.
  • Be familiar with all jobs performed in the department and assist with overseeing that daily goals/schedules are successfully met.
  • Ability to grow and assume increased responsibilities as production requirements dictate.
  • Flexible to vary work shifts dependent upon production and staffing needs.

Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer skills essential
  • Basic math skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work well people and across departments
  • Prior experience as a Utility Operator or Processor, or strong knowledge of the operation including raw receiving, processing, filler operating and cleaning and CIP functions.
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of the department and the ability to receive direction and organize work and staffing schedules.
  • 2-5 years experience in the Production Department or related area is desirable.

SQF Requirements/Responsibilities

  • Maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner.
  • Support biosecurity and GMP measures.
  • Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  • Backup duties are covered by other leads and/or Production Supervisors.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location.

The pay range for this position is
$34.26$36.54 USD
