Department: Service Extension Department -  Bloomsburg, PA 

Availability of Position:  ImmediateSchedule: Full-Time; 35 hours per weekReporting Relationship: Regional Manager

Salary Grade: $14.50 per hour; 72 Non-Exempt

Overview:

The Caseworker/Program Facilitator plays a key role in providing and coordinating Salvation Army programs and services through the Bloomsburg Service Center and surrounding areas of Columbia County. This position provides confidential intake, referral, and assistance to individuals and families; maintains accurate records, statistics, and required reports; coordinates seasonal and community-based programs; and supports compliance with Salvation Army policies and program requirements. The Caseworker/Program Facilitator also recruits, trains, and manages volunteers and works with Service Center Advisory Board members, builds relationships with donors, businesses, partner agencies, and community organizations, assists with fundraising efforts, and represents The Salvation Army in the local community. The ideal candidate will be professional, organized, self-directed, responsive, and able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively while supporting the mission and values of The Salvation Army.

Responsibilities

The Caseworker/Program Facilitator is responsible for providing day-to-day coordination and delivery of Salvation Army programs and services through the Bloomsburg Service Center and surrounding areas of Columbia County. Responsibilities include providing confidential client intake, assessment, referral, and assistance; maintaining accurate program records and statistics; preparing monthly reports; administering applicable government and agency-funded programs; and ensuring compliance with Salvation Army policies and program requirements. Coordinate seasonal programs such as Camp, Community Cares, Back-to-School, Angel Tree, Toys for Tots, and Sheetz for the Kidz; recruit, train, and manage volunteers and works with Service Center Advisory Board members; develop relationships with donors, businesses, partner agencies, and community organizations; assist with Red Kettle fundraising efforts; represent The Salvation Army at local meetings when needed; maintain office supplies, equipment, and organization; attend required trainings; and complete other duties as assigned by the Regional Manager.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; casework experience preferred.
• Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
• Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and professional communication skills.
• Working knowledge of computer programs and systems, including Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Adobe.
• Ability to work effectively and respectfully with individuals and families seeking assistance.
• Must be self-motivated, self-directed, dependable, and able to work independently.
• Ability to maintain accurate records, files, and program documentation. 
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities, manage multiple tasks, and respond promptly to the needs of staff, volunteers, and individuals in the field.
• As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
• Must have an understanding of and support for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
