The role will report to the Country Manager, Singapore, and will work closely with regional insurance leadership, Commercial, Marketing, Product, AI & Engineering, Data, Operations, Finance, Legal and Compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Growth

  • Develop and execute growth initiatives for the Singapore insurance business, including opportunities relating to products, customer segments, distribution channels, commercial partnerships and customer propositions.
  • Contribute to the development of the Singapore insurance strategy, in alignment with Group priorities, customer needs, commercial objectives and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver agreed business targets, which may include revenue, profitability, conversion, retention, customer growth and product or channel performance.
  • Identify market, competitor, customer and regulatory trends, and translate these insights into practical commercial recommendations and initiatives.
  • Build robust business cases and implementation plans for new products, partnerships, campaigns and other strategic opportunities.
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to improve customer journeys, conversion, retention, renewal performance and long-term customer value.

Insurer and partner management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers, strategic partners and other relevant stakeholders in the Singapore insurance ecosystem.
  • Lead or support commercial negotiations, partner planning, product development, campaign execution and performance management, in accordance with the assigned scope of responsibility.
  • Develop clear account plans and performance-review processes for key insurer and strategic-partner relationships.
  • Work cross-functionally to resolve material commercial, product, service, operational or customer issues affecting insurance-partner performance.
  • Partner with Commercial, Marketing, Product, AI & Engineering, Data, Operations, Finance, Legal and Compliance to support effective reporting, reconciliation, contracting and delivery processes.

Regulatory compliance and risk

  • Work closely with Legal and Compliance to ensure that insurance products, marketing materials, customer journeys, sales and broking processes, and partner arrangements comply with applicable laws, regulations, MAS requirements and internal policies.
  • Promote strong governance, controls and risk awareness across the Singapore insurance business.
  • Identify, escalate and assist in resolving material customer complaints, conduct concerns, operational incidents and regulatory matters within the candidate’s allocated scope.
  • Support the maintenance of appropriate records, management information and regulatory submissions relevant to the business.
  • Ensure that commercial decisions appropriately balance business objectives, customer interests, fair dealing and regulatory obligations.

Performance and operational excellence

  • Use sales, customer, commercial, financial and funnel data to assess performance, identify opportunities and recommend improvement actions.
  • Support the development and use of management information, dashboards and regular business-review processes.
  • Partner with Marketing, Product, AI & Engineering, Data and Operations to improve digital customer journeys, operational processes, customer outcomes and scalability.
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects that support profitable growth, efficiency and improved customer experience.

  • Customer experience, complaint trends and service performance
  • Strength of governance, controls, regulatory compliance and risk management
  • Team performance, leadership capability and talent development
  • Contribution to strategic and operational improvements across the Singapore insurance business

Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 8 years’ relevant experience in insurance, insurance broking, insurance distribution, financial services or a closely related sector.
  • Strong commercial experience, including responsibility for revenue, growth, P&L, product, partnerships, distribution or other material business-performance outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience working with insurers and managing commercial, product, distribution or partnership relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of the Singapore insurance market, insurance products and relevant regulatory and conduct expectations.
  • Experience working in a digital, fintech, marketplace, broker, insurer or partnership-led distribution environment is preferred.
