Principal Consultant - Loan Boarding

Overview

Job Purpose

The Loan Boarding Principal Consultant serves as the senior subject matter expert on loan boarding product. This individual leads client-facing engagements, guiding financial institutions through the end-to-end implementation of loan boarding solutions — from initial discovery through post-go-live support. The role requires deep expertise in the movement of data from a source to the MSP mortgage servicing platform and data mapping methodologies.

 

Responsibilities

• Lead complex loan boarding implementations for mortgage servicers, credit unions, and correspondent lenders, ensuring accurate and timely transfer of loan data into servicing systems
• Serve as the primary technical and functional advisor to clients on Boarding API integration, field mapping, and data validation
• Translate complex technical requirements into clear client-facing documentation, training materials, and job aides
• Partner with clients to analyze source loan data, identify data quality issues, and develop remediation strategies prior to boarding
• Lead client workshops, discovery sessions, and status meetings with stakeholders at all levels
• Collaborate with internal development, QA, and product teams to communicate client needs and drive platform enhancements
• Mentor junior consultants and analysts on boarding methodologies, system configurations, and best practices
• Validate boarded loans against MSP transaction fields (ARM, escrow, MI, HMDA, MERS, etc.) to ensure data integrity
• Support UAT planning and execution, including test case design and defect triage
• Stay current on regulatory changes (HMDA, RESPA, TILA) and their impact on loan boarding data requirements

 

Knowledge and Experience

• 7+ years of experience in mortgage servicing, loan boarding, or mortgage technology consulting
• Deep hands-on experience with MSP (Black Knight / ICE Mortgage Technology) servicing platform
• Proficiency with field-level data mapping
• Strong understanding of loan boarding concepts, file data structures, and system integration workflows
• Experience with loan types including Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, ARM, HELOC, and construction loans
• Solid knowledge of mortgage regulatory requirements including HMDA, MERS, escrow, and MI guidelines
• Excellent communication skills — able to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

 

Preferred Knowledge and Experience

• Experience with Loan Boarding or similar loan boarding automation platforms
• Prior experience at a mortgage servicer, bank, credit union, or data conversion
• Knowledge of ULDD, MISMO data standards, or FNMA/FHLMC delivery requirements
