• Quarterly accident year reserving
• Regulatory Reporting (Solvency II, IFRS 17 etc.)
• Annual Business Planning
• Contribution to existing and developing future management information
The jobholder will also:
• Assist the Actuarial team in other aspects of their business, including various actuarial analyses,
reconciliations, liaising with internal and external stakeholders and managing ad-hoc requirements.
• Be required to both promote and adhere to professional requirements and to encourage and assist others
The job holder will report to the Head of Actuarial Reserving. The role is based in Amman, and there will be opportunity to travel to London (UK) where some of the actuarial Reserving team is based and
potentially to other office locations dependent on business requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Quarterly Reserving for IGIs various lines of business
- Set and review reserves across various Reserving segments
- Discussions with respective underwriters and claims handlers
- Presentations of findings to underwriters and management
- Written documentation to requisite standards
- Review and management of several large facilities (binders) and/or other areas of focus
- Preparation and review of returns to:
- Various regulatory bodies (SEC, BMA, UK PRA, Malta FSA, NAIC and Labuan FSA)
- Rating agencies (S&P, A.M. Best)
- Analysis of anticipated profitability for Business Planning
- Continue to develop and evolve data management, processes and management information with a focus on further automation
Key Attributes & Professional Qualifications
The candidate will either be:
- Studying towards FIA, FCAS, FAIA or equivalent (8-12 exams) with 3-5 years of actuarial work experience, or
- A newly qualified Actuary with the Institute of Actuaries (or equivalent professional body) with 0-2 years of post-qualification experience.
The candidate will be expected to demonstrate:
- Broad expertise across several non-life actuarial functions with a specialism in Reserving
- Backgrounds from Lloyd’s, the London Market, Commercial Lines or Consultancy
- High-level written and verbal communication skills
- Can build models/ processes with supporting documentation to solve problems that are used by themselves or by others
- Actively proposes/makes/implements improvements to productivity and new solutions to new
- and existing workflows/processes and challenges
- Ability to highlight areas of uncertainty to the wider team and managers
- Delivery and timeliness of several simple and complex projects including critical regulatory
- reporting requirements
- Detail oriented, able to work well under deadlines and perform tasks with little supervision
- Expertise in two or more of: Excel, VBA, SQL, R, Python, Power BI etc
The role currently does not include any direct management; however, this may change in the future. The candidate would still participate in understanding the motivations and others in the team and other departments.
