As a Counsellor II, you’ll provide short-term and longer-term counselling through programs like our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Total Mental Health (TMH), helping individuals and families in Thunder Bay build resilience.

What You’ll Do
As part of our Healthcare Excellence team, you’ll empower clients to navigate life’s challenges and strengthen their emotional well-being through personalized, evidence-based counselling.
Deliver Care: Provide solution-focused, goal-oriented brief counselling, alongside opportunities for longer-term therapeutic engagement under TMH and Benefits Extension models.
Support the Community: Manage a diverse clinical population presenting with stress, anxiety, relationship issues, workplace concerns, grief, and life transitions.
Streamline Workflows: Maintain clear, accurate, and timely clinical documentation using TELUS Health’s integrated digital tools.
Collaborate Daily: Participate in interdisciplinary team consultations, peer case reviews, and collaborative groups to ensure seamless continuity of care.
What You Bring
Education: Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Counselling Psychology, or a related clinical field.
Licensure: Current registration in good standing with the OCSWSSW (RSW) or CRPO (RP).
Experience: 5+ years of post-graduate clinical counselling or psychotherapy experience.
Clinical Modalities: Deep proficiency in brief, solution-focused therapy as well as longer-term evidence-informed frameworks.
Assets: Previous experience supporting Indigenous populations or individuals navigating substance use concerns.
Competencies: Strong caseload management skills, digital literacy, and the ability to build rapid therapeutic rapport.
