IT/OT Project Specialist
The opportunity
Are you passionate about technology, cybersecurity, and building something from the ground up? Hitachi Energy is looking for a IT/OT Project Specialist to play a key role in the development of our new manufacturing facility in Reynosa, Mexico.
In this unique opportunity, you will combine project management, information technology, operational technology (OT), and cybersecurity expertise to help establish a world-class factory environment. During the initial phase, you will lead and coordinate IT activities supporting the construction and launch of a new factory, helping ensure that critical systems, infrastructure, and security measures are implemented effectively.
As part of the Business Solutions IT organization, you will work closely with global teams, vendors, site stakeholders, and cybersecurity experts to support both office and shop floor technologies. From collaboration tools and meeting spaces to manufacturing equipment and OT security, your work will directly contribute to operational excellence and a secure production environment.

How you'll make an impact
- Lead IT-related activities supporting the construction and launch of a new manufacturing facility.
- Provide onsite and multi-site support for end users, applications, devices, and collaboration technologies.
- Support operational technology (OT) and factory-owned IT assets across the site.
- Monitor, protect, and maintain critical IT/OT infrastructure and systems.
- Respond to cybersecurity incidents and collaborate with global security teams on remediation activities.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure systems are configured, secured, and maintained effectively.
- Implement cybersecurity controls and security updates to help protect factory operations.
- Identify, assess, and report abnormal behavior or security risks impacting OT environments.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your background
- Experience managing new factory build projects or large-scale industrial IT implementations required.
- Formal qualification, degree, diploma, or apprenticeship in Information Technology or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in IT support, infrastructure, or OT environments.
- Fluent in English and Spanish, with strong communication skills. (C1-Advanced)
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows, iOS, ServiceNow, and asset management tools.
- ITIL 4 and/or Lean Six Sigma certification preferred, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
