The CDD AML Supervisor is the first level of management function with the BSA/AML Customer Risk Management (CRM) organization. Direct reports will consist of CDD Investigators and Team Lead(s). The CDD Supervisor is expected to ensure performance and quality standards are met for direct reports. Direct leadership, coach, counsel, and develop work schedules for employees. Hire, terminate, and determine disciplinary actions for employees. Responsible for monthly performance management reporting related to productivity, volume, and quality. Liaison with internal and external departments. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with segments through continuous and proactive communications.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage day to day operations of team of direct reports working CDD reviews.
  • Drive operational excellence by ensuring that team members are productive, work items within the established SLA, and have high-quality standards.
  • Facilitate and lead CRM and BSA/AML initiatives that includes many cross-functional teams.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to others with the CRM team and to other departments with AML/BSA as needed.
  • Ability to perform in high-pressure environment under strict deadlines.
  • Lead engagements with regulators and internal audit/control groups.
  • Drive and lead opportunities for improvements and creating efficiencies within the organization.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with segments through continuous and proactive communications.
  • Drive consistent performance in alignment with the bank's risk tolerance and expectations.
  • Train new hires and provide coaching and mentoring for existing colleagues and advise those within the organization of proper procedure and CRM/AML and enterprise policy.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with segments through continuous and proactive communications.
  • Promote exchange of ideas and application of best practices.
  • Work high-sensitivity alerts related to confidential customers.
  • Flexible to perform other functions as requested by management
  • Assists in preparation of various reports.
  • Present high-risk customers to Senior Management for review as needed.
  • Identifies areas for process improvements.
  • Able to travel around 10% of the time.
  • Flexibility to perform other functions as requested by management.     
  • Recommend appropriate follow-up and possible account closure for customers that exceed the Banks risk tolerance.
  • Participate in merger and acquisition activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required (or GED equivalent)                                                 
  • 5+ year’s experience within an AML/BSA department, with 3+ year’s experience in a CDD role working with complex customer types with prior experience coaching, mentoring, and/or leading small groups and supporting a team directly or indirectly.

Preferred Experience:

  • Relevant experience with a financial institution, regulatory agency, or law enforcement agency.
  • Excellent writing skills, with experience writing in a concise and understandable format. ​Associate or bachelor’s Degree
  • Excellent critical thinking, verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills in a high-pressure environment.
  • Related professional certifications such as CAMS or CFE highly desirable.
  • Experience participating in regulatory exams and internal audit reviews, and exposure to providing responses to inquiries from these entities.
  • System knowledge with Actimize -- Risk Case Management (ERCM), Actimize -- Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (SAS AML), ServiceNow, Change Management, and/or SharePoint experiences is a plus.
  • Proven track record of strong communications, analytical, organizational, project management and planning skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment with professionalism, courtesy and tact
  • Ability to shift priorities as needed to meet demand
  • Basic PC skills - MS Word, Excel, web-based applications
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills in a high-pressure environment.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated, deadline driven and able to work in an ever-changing environment.
  • Experience identifying and escalating atypical activity.
  • Ability to use multiple bank systems concurrently.
  • Proven risk management experience.
  • Experience with working in team-oriented environments where success of the overall team is critical to operational excellence.
  • Ability to lead and enhance training, provide coaching, and/or act as the direct leader/mentor to investigators.
  • Advanced Excel skills to complete analysis or large data sets; ability to compile and present findings to BSA Leadership
