Our Harford County inpatient treatment center provides comprehensive care for adults experiencing substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health conditions, and withdrawal management needs. As a Registered Nurse, you will work alongside physicians, nurse practitioners, and interdisciplinary treatment teams to provide exceptional patient-centered care while helping clients achieve lasting recovery.

What You'll Do
As a Registered Nurse, you will:
- Provide direct nursing care and clinical services in accordance with physician orders, nursing standards, and organizational policies.
- Complete nursing assessments, reassessments, admissions, and ongoing clinical documentation.
- Administer medications and monitor effectiveness, side effects, and client response to treatment.
- Monitor and implement withdrawal management protocols including COWS, CIWA, and other clinical assessment tools.
- Provide medication education, health education, and nursing support to clients and families.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and medical providers during assessments, medication management, and treatment planning.
- Monitor client health status and communicate significant clinical findings to appropriate treatment team members.
- Provide clinical guidance and support to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and nursing support staff.
- Assist with continuity of care through coordination with interdisciplinary treatment teams.
- Maintain medication storage areas, clinical supplies, and medical equipment in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Respond appropriately to medical concerns, emergencies, and crisis situations.
- Maintain client confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
- Complete required trainings and maintain compliance with accreditation and licensing standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Maryland
- Current CPR/BLS Certification
- Current First Aid Certification
- Strong nursing assessment, documentation, and clinical decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary treatment team
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Preferred
- Experience in Behavioral Health Nursing
- Experience in Substance Use Disorder Treatment
- Experience with Withdrawal Management or Detoxification Services
- Experience working with Co-Occurring Mental Health Disorders
- Knowledge of healthcare accreditation, licensing, and regulatory standards

Work Environment
This position operates within behavioral health and addiction treatment settings. Nurses may work with individuals experiencing:

- Medical concerns and emergencies
- Behavioral health crises
Employees may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids, communicable illnesses, medications, and emotionally sensitive situations while providing care.

- Verification of licensure and credentials
- Any required state-mandated clearances
