The facility supports final assembly, painting, inspection, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities for the Kodiak 100 and Kodiak 900, serving commercial, multi‑mission, and public service customers worldwide. In addition to manufacturing, the site provides comprehensive aircraft maintenance, technical support, and quality oversight, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and customer requirements, while continuing to expand production capabilities and reinforcing its role as a center of excellence for rugged, mission‑ready turboprop aircraft within Daher’s global network.

Job Description Summary:

The Quality Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring the quality, safety, and airworthiness of aircraft, components, and assemblies throughout the manufacturing and certification process. This position performs detailed visual, mechanical, functional, and dimensional inspections to verify compliance with engineering drawings, company specifications, FAA regulations, and customer requirements. The Quality Inspector serves as a key partner to Production, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure all products meet established standards before progressing through the manufacturing process or being released for service. This role is expected to uphold Daher-Kodiak Aircraft's values and mission by demonstrating a commitment to quality, safety, integrity, continuous improvement, and operational excellence in all aspects of the inspection process.

Primary Role and Responsibilities:

  • Perform assigned inspections of detail parts, assemblies, installations, and completed aircraft using engineering drawings, CAD models, MRB dispositions, process specifications, material and purchase order requirements, FAA regulations, Quality Assurance Manual (QAM) standards, job travelers, engineering and rework orders, and other approved technical documentation to ensure compliance with design, manufacturing, quality, and airworthiness requirements.

  • Conduct visual, dimensional, functional, destructive, and non-destructive inspections and testing to verify product conformity and compliance with established quality standards.

  • Review aircraft and engine logbooks for pilot reports, squawks, and discrepancies, ensuring corrective actions are completed, documented, and compliant with company and FAA requirements.

  • Perform Required Inspection Item (RII) and buy-back inspections, validating corrective actions and verifying completion of squawk items, pilot reports, and major repairs prior to final approval.

  • Inspect component exchanges and other manufacturing activities in accordance with approved work instructions and quality requirements.

  • Create, document, and process Non-Conforming Material Reports (NMRs), support Material Review Board (MRB) activities, and perform follow-up inspections to verify dispositioned work when required.

  • Monitor assigned work areas for compliance with approved manufacturing processes, tooling and fixture requirements, calibration standards, material storage requirements, shelf-life controls, and safety procedures.

  • Verify and document critical aircraft functions and flight-related activities, including aircraft weight and balance, engine runs, flight control rigging and balancing, and final inspection or "OK-to-close" approvals.

  • Accurately complete inspection records, quality documentation, logbook entries, and regulatory paperwork in accordance with company and FAA requirements.

  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to identify and resolve quality issues, support corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Assist in training and mentoring employees on inspection methods, quality standards, regulatory compliance requirements, and best practices as needed.

What you need to have:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of quality inspection principles, manufacturing processes, and aircraft manufacturing practices.

  • Knowledge of general quality systems, inspection methods, and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, CAD models, technical specifications, procedures, and regulatory documentation.

  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify defects, discrepancies, and non-conformances while maintaining accuracy in a production environment.

  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills with the ability to make sound decisions and resolve quality-related issues.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments and communicate technical information clearly.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) or more years of experience as an Aircraft Quality Inspector or in a quality inspection role within a regulated manufacturing environment.

  • Previous experience within the aerospace, aviation, or aircraft manufacturing industry.

  • Working knowledge of FAA regulations, aircraft certification requirements, and aerospace quality standards.

  • Experience with nonconformance reporting, corrective actions, and root cause analysis.

  • Familiarity with quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, blueprints, specifications, and technical manuals.

  • Knowledge of inspection techniques, measuring tools, and test equipment used in manufacturing and aircraft inspection environments.

  • Experience documenting inspection results and maintaining quality records in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.

  • Understanding of calibration requirements, material traceability, and quality control processes.
