We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented intern for a four - six month corporate fine art project. Gain hands–on experience with an extraordinary, historic collection featuring early 20th-century Chinese art, modern European and American paintings, Japanese wood block prints and works on paper.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The intern will work closely with an Art Consultant and assist with the documentation and inventory of a private, diverse fine art collection of approximately 300 items.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creating condition reports on art and framing
  • Photograph of the art
  • Note and categorize artworks by subject matter
  • Enter and update information in Microsoft Excel
  • Compare information against existing inventory records and fill in any missing data
  • Ensure locations are current

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work independently and responsibly
  • Commitment 12-16 hours a week in Midtown Manhattan, New York
  • Familiarity with handling fine art (preferred, not required)
  • Pursuing or holds a degree in Art History or Fine Arts (preferred, not required)
