East Texas Council of Governments (ETCOG) is seeking a customer focused Call Center Reservationist to support GoBus public transportation throughout our 14-county East Texas region. In this role, you will serve as a primary point of contact for citizens scheduling transportation services. Responsibilities include answering incoming calls, providing clear and friendly service information, discussing trip options, scheduling rides, and working with customers to identify available transportation options. The ideal candidate communicates professionally, remains calm in a high-call-volume environment, and is committed to delivering reliable service to the public.
The Call Center Reservationist will maintain accurate customer profiles, trip reservations, addresses, and scheduling-system records to support driver manifests and daily operations. This position also assists with call center opening procedures, contracted trips and portal scheduling, and general administrative tasks. The role may provide operational backup to dispatch by assisting drivers and operators, responding promptly to service needs, and covering dispatch breaks or lunches when necessary. Candidates should be detail-oriented, comfortable using scheduling and database systems, and able to meet established productivity and customer service goals. If you're calm under pressure, tech savvy, and passionate about providing essential services to your community, we want to hear from you. Join our team and step into a role that makes a difference every day!
Education and Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum of one year of experience in dispatch, customer service, a transportation environment, or a related field is required; experience with transit scheduling is preferred; logistical knowledge of the East Texas Region to include major highways and previous experience with scheduling software is strongly preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
