About the job    

The SAS LATAM CA team is looking for a Sr Systems Engineer to provide sales consulting to SAS customers regarding our portfolio of products and solutions. This position will design customized technical solutions to meet customer requirements and increase revenue & profitability for both the client and SAS. To achieve this, you will collaborate closely with the account team to identify opportunities, explain commercial and technical value, build MVPs and prepare and present software demonstrations.

 

This role involves providing technical support for pre-sales and post-sales software activities, leveraging process knowledge to demonstrate how we address industry or industry segment challenges.

 

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will:    

• Provide overall leadership on initiatives and projects and coaching for other team members; coordinate with other business units & geographies to share best practices and approaches.
• Work with sales staff to outline available products and leverage sales opportunities.
• Build a trusted relationship with the Account Executive and account stakeholders to provide practical guidance in the functional and technical aspects of proposed software and set proper expectations to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintains and develops relevant knowledge levels of technical and industry trends to identify impacts and opportunities created by these trends.
• Provides demonstration and business development support at vendor-sponsored events, trade shows, and user group meetings.
• Strategizes with sales team on objectives of customer meetings, understand how this activity relates to overall sales plan and provides functional leadership for sales opportunities.
• Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.

Required qualifications  

• Degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or an analytical discipline
• Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SAS, Python, R, SPSS, MATLAB, etc.)
• Proficiency in programming languages ​​(e.g., SAS, Python Java, C++, etc.).
• Minimum 7 years with knowledge and experience using analytical techniques (e.g., statistics, predictive modeling, econometrics, optimization, etc.) to solve business problems.
• Experience as a consultant on technology projects or in a sales support role.
• In-depth Knowledge of Banking and/or Insurance Companies
• Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

• Experience giving public presentations and/or teaching courses or workshops
• Strong communication skills and Self-study and research skills
• Willingness to learn new techniques and tools
• Ability to effectively communicate in English
