At Pyramid Healthcare in Radford we specialize in Substance Use Disorder Treatment. Pyramid Healthcare Inc. has been in operations since 1999 and currently operate over 80 programs in 8 different states, offering a full continuum of high-quality behavioral health care for individuals suffering from substance use disorders, mental health concerns, and other behavioral health issues.
The Lead Driver provides safe, reliable, and timely transportation services for clients participating in Pyramid Healthcare programs while serving as a day-to-day resource and operational lead for assigned Drivers. This position performs the responsibilities of a Driver while assisting with transportation coordination, driver orientation and training, route and coverage needs, communication of operational concerns, and adherence to organizational transportation and safety standards. The Lead Driver supports the Transportation Supervisor and/or Transportation Director in maintaining efficient transportation operations while promoting client safety, professionalism, teamwork, and quality service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Transport clients to and from specified locations safely and within expected timeframes.
- Supervise and support clients while transporting.
- Maintain all necessary documentation associated with transportation services provided.
- Operate assigned vehicles safely and in accordance with applicable traffic laws, company policies, and transportation procedures.
- Serve as a day-to-day resource for Drivers regarding routes, transportation procedures, schedules, client transportation needs, and operational questions.
- Assist with the orientation and training of newly hired Drivers, including modeling safe driving practices and organizational expectations.
- Assist leadership with coordinating daily transportation assignments, routes, driver availability, and coverage needs.
- Support changes to transportation schedules and assignments based on client, facility, or operational needs.
- Communicate transportation delays, staffing or coverage concerns, client concerns, vehicle issues, safety concerns, and other relevant information to transportation leadership.
- Assist Drivers with responding to transportation-related issues and escalate concerns to the Transportation Supervisor or Transportation Director as appropriate.
- Promote adherence to vehicle safety, cleanliness, inspection, documentation, and transportation procedures.
- Assist with monitoring transportation documentation for completion and communicate identified concerns to leadership.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations and assist Drivers in following established emergency procedures.
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with clients, Drivers, facility staff, and other organizational stakeholders.
- Promote teamwork, consistency, professionalism, and safe transportation practices within the Transportation Department.
- Must exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality with regard to all company information.
- Completion of all required trainings as designated by the company and accreditation/licensing entities.

Education, Licensure, & Experience:
- REQUIRED: Valid Driver's License within state of employment
- REQUIRED: Current CPR, AED, and First Aid
- Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: Experience providing healthcare transportation
