Overview

Infrastructure BIM Engineer who will be part of the Atkins Middle East delivery team, supporting the planning, and modelling of infrastructure utility projects. The role involves close collaboration with Lead Project Offices (LPOs), multidisciplinary design teams, and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality utility design solutions. The successful candidate will contribute to the preparation of drawings, reports, and BIM/CAD deliverables while ensuring compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and client expectations.

Your role

• Work as part of the Atkins Middle East delivery team, coordinating with Lead Project Offices (LPOs) and Global Technology Centre (GTC) multidisciplinary teams.
• Support the delivery of infrastructure utility Modeling and planning projects across wet and dry utilities.
• Prepare, develop, and review project deliverables, including drawings, layouts, long sections, schedules, typical details, and technical reports in accordance with project scope, budget, quality, and client requirements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant CAD and BIM standards across multidisciplinary projects.
• Coordinate effectively with Design Engineers, subconsultants, and other project stakeholders 
• Prepare and review preliminary sketches and drawings based on engineering mark-ups and project requirements.
• Create, edit, and manage Civil 3D alignments, parcels, corridors, feature lines, and surfaces.
• Develop and maintain utility models, including gravity and pressure pipe networks, and perform modifications to components and styles such as manholes, catch basins, fire hydrants, and related assets.
• Support utility clash detection and resolution activities using Civil 3D, Revit, and Navisworks.
• Evaluate engineering alternatives and contribute to resolving technical design challenges.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute assigned tasks safely, efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with project standards and procedures.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery.

About you

• Education & Experience
• Diploma or bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure modelling and design.
• Proven experience in utility engineering projects within multidisciplinary environments.
• 5–7 years of hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and utility detailing.
• Strong experience in the design and detailing of:
• Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) networks
• Street Lighting systems
• Telecom and ICT networks
• Gravity and Pressure Pipe Networks
• Wet and Dry Utility Infrastructure
• Modeling Tertiary/Secondary Irrigation
• Proficiency in preparing and checking engineering drawings, layouts, profiles, long sections, schedules, and typical details.
• Experience creating and managing Civil 3D alignments, parcels, corridors, feature lines, surfaces, and pipe networks.
• Familiarity with clash detection and resolution tools such as Navisworks, Civil 3D, and Revit.
• Professional Competencies
• Strong coordination and communication skills with engineers, subconsultants, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Very good command of written and spoken Business English.
• Ability to analyze engineering alternatives and resolve technical issues effectively.
• Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively in diverse cultural and international project environments.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills within a professional business setting.
