Statutory & Tax Senior Accountant (Portugal)

Responsibilities
- Prepare and support the delivery of statutory financial statements in accordance with Portuguese GAAP (SNC)
- Ensure accurate and timely execution of tax compliance activities (Corporate Income Tax – IRC, VAT, and other local requirements)
- Participate in month-end and year-end closing activities, including quarterly Balance Sheet reconciliation process
- Support external audits and liaise with auditors and advisors as needed
- Monitor changes in local accounting and tax regulations
- Ensure strong controls, documentation, and audit readiness
- Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in statutory accounting and tax, ideally within a multinational environment
- Strong knowledge of Portuguese accounting standards (SNC) and local tax regulations
- Proven experience supporting Portuguese statutory financial statements
- Certified Contabilista Certificado (TOC/CC) – required
