Cloud Engineer 2

Required skills and experience:
• 2/3+ years of experience working with Azure and/or AWS or any other major cloud platform technologies
• Provisioning, operating, and maintaining systems running on Azure and AWS cloud platforms including deployment/teardown and automation
• Proficient with cloud platforms including IaaS & PaaS components, for example: Azure Virtual Machines/EC2 Instances, Golden Image/AMI management, Storage Accounts/S3 buckets, Network Security Groups/Security Groups, vNets/VPCs, Azure App Services, AWS Lambda, Kubernetes etc
• Infrastructure as code (IaC), and CI/CD pipeline experience is required – example: Terraform, Bicep/ARM, CloudFormation, Gitlab, ADO
• Hands-on scripting and automation experience (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash, Azure CLI, AWS CLI)
• Proficient understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems from an administration perspective including OS configuration, patching, performance tuning, user/group management, system services, and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of network (LAN, WAN, VPN) and web related protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols)
• Management of monitoring and metrics using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, CloudWatch and shared dashboards
• Configuration and operation of backup solutions to protect and recover workloads (Azure Backup, AWS Backup)
• Update Management (patching) experience on cloud based systems is required including remediation of patching issues
• Experience with security policies, RBAC models, IAM roles and access provisioning, Security Groups
• Good awareness of the latest features/capabilities of Azure and AWS platforms are desirable
• Knowledge on installation, configuration, usage of CLI tools to manage cloud components is desirable
• Experience with creation and maintenance of operations documentation for day to day issues and knowledge transfer
• Excellent troubleshooting skills for Azure/AWS platforms including OS-level issues
• Experience with ITIL/ITSM service operations processes including incident/request management, change and configuration management. Ideally ITIL Foundation certified. ServiceNow exposure is a bonus
• Good to have: Understanding of AI-driven operations (e.g., AIOps, AI-assisted troubleshooting, log analytics insights)
• Prior experience in Life Sciences area is also a bonus. Other highly regulated industry experience will be considered also
Education/certification:
•    Degree level educated, preferably in science, maths or engineering areas.
•    Azure Certification is a must - preferably Azure Administrator or Solutions Architect certified. AWS Associate level certification is preferred.
