Ferguson is seeking an experienced Senior Credit Manager to provide leadership and oversight for credit, collections, and accounts receivable operations across an assigned market. This role is critical in protecting company assets, developing and leading a high-performing credit team, supporting profitable sales growth, and optimizing return on receivables.
The Senior Credit Manager provides strategic and day-to-day leadership for credit and collection activities in alignment with company policies and assigned authority. This position requires a strong balance of financial judgment, risk management, business partnership, and people leadership.
The Senior Credit Manager is also responsible for key people-management activities, including coaching and developing associates, supporting performance management, workforce planning, associate engagement, and partnering with Human Resources on employee-related matters as appropriate.
This position is responsible for managing a portfolio of accounts receivable of up to $400 million, requiring strong financial judgment, leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
This position is based in Tamarac, FL with responsibility spanning all KOBs, including Blended, Waterworks, HVAC, and Facilities
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for credit, collections, and accounts receivable activities across the assigned market
- Lead, coach, develop, and engage credit team members to support business objectives and associate growth
- Establish clear expectations and provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and development for team members
- Support performance management and employee development processes, partnering with Human Resources and leadership as appropriate
- Participate in workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, training, and development of team members
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment
- Support associate engagement, retention, and succession planning within the credit organization
- Partner with Human Resources on employee relations and other people-related matters as appropriate
- Evaluate and approve credit applications, credit limits, and account changes based on financial and risk analysis
- Monitor customer balances, aging, and portfolio performance and ensure appropriate action is taken on delinquent or high-risk accounts
- Develop and execute effective collection and risk-management strategies
- Review and manage credit limits, lien rights, and other risk mitigation measures to protect company interests
- Handle complex, high-risk, or exception accounts requiring advanced judgment or escalation
- Manage bad debt exposure, including recovery efforts and legal escalation when necessary
- Resolve complex credit and collection disputes in partnership with sales teams, customers, and other stakeholders
- Partner with sales and business leadership to develop credit solutions that balance customer needs, growth opportunities, and acceptable risk
- Structure credit solutions, including joint check agreements, for project-based accounts as appropriate
- Maintain strong partnerships with branch and sales leadership through regular communication, branch interaction, and customer visits
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and internal controls related to credit and collections
- Monitor portfolio trends and credit performance to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement
- Communicate significant credit risks, portfolio concerns, and business opportunities to appropriate leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred
- Progressive experience in Credit, Collections, Accounts Receivable, or a related financial discipline
- Previous leadership or people-management experience strongly preferred
- Experience coaching and developing associates and supporting employee performance
- Strong analytical and financial decision-making skills with sound business judgment
- Experience evaluating credit risk and managing complex or high-value account portfolios
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis
- Knowledge of collection strategies and execution
- Understanding of secondary security concepts and risk mitigation strategies
- Knowledge of Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) fundamentals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to effectively partner across functions
- Ability to influence and collaborate with sales, branch, finance, and business leadership
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of sales processes and the relationship between credit management and profitable growth
- Proficiency with applicable enterprise and vendor systems

Pay Range:

$8,233.34 - $13,175.00-
Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
