Job Description:

Are you passionate about designing and delivering an exceptional employee experience through holistic wellness and competitive total rewards? We are looking for a collaborative, analytical, and people-centric Benefits Professional to join our team.

In this role, you will be a vital champion for our employees, supporting the day-to-day administration and strategic evolution of our comprehensive benefits offerings. From health coverage and retirement plans to wellness initiatives and work-life balance programs, you will help ensure our benefits packages remain competitive, compliant, and deeply valued by our team members.

Hybrid Role - 2 days a week in the Irvine office required.

What You’ll Do

1. Plan Administration & Daily Operations

·       Administer and maintain core employee benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k)/retirement programs, disability, and paid time off (PTO).

·       Act as a primary, trusted resource for employees and people managers, answering moderate-to-complex benefits inquiries, troubleshooting claims or enrollment issues, and escalating nuanced cases with empathy and precision.

·       Lead annual Open Enrollment logistical preparation, system setup, testing, and post-enrollment audits.

2. Data Analytics & Program Enhancements

·       Analyze standard benefits utilization, claims data, and demographic metrics to identify key trends, cost drivers, and participation patterns.

·       Partner with People Analytics and finance teams to generate data-driven reports and actionable recommendations that shape future plan designs and wellness initiatives.

·       Participate in market benchmarking studies and competitive surveys to assess industry standards and keep our offerings ahead of the curve.

3. Vendor Partnership & Stakeholder Collaboration

·       Foster strong working relationships with third-party administrators (TPAs), insurance carriers, brokers, and consultants to ensure seamless service delivery and prompt resolution of operational issues.

·       Coordinate regularly with internal partners across Payroll, HR Operations, Finance, and Legal to ensure flawless deductions, premium reconciliations, and reporting accuracy.

4. Compliance & Governance

·       Monitor and track compliance across federal, state, and local regulations governing employee benefits (including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, and Section 125).

·       Support required filings and audits, including Form 5500 preparation, non-discrimination testing, and required participant disclosures.

5. Communication, Education & Documentation

·       Develop, refresh, and maintain clear, accessible benefits documentation, including Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs), enrollment guides, policy documents, and intranet resources.

·       Partner on employee communication campaigns, organizing engaging webinars, wellness fairs, and educational sessions to empower employees to make informed healthcare and financial decisions.

Job Qualifications:

What You Bring

·       Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in benefits administration, HR operations, or total rewards.

·       Knowledge Base: Solid foundational understanding of group health plans, retirement vehicles (e.g., 401(k)), leave policies, and statutory regulations (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA).

·       Analytical Mindset: Comfortable working with HRIS systems, benefits administration platforms, and Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, etc.) to interpret plan utilization and census data.

·       Service-Oriented Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex benefit terminology into clear, empathetic, and actionable guidance for employees.

·       Detail & Discretion: High level of confidentiality, organizational agility, and meticulous attention to detail when managing sensitive employee health and financial information.

·       Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). CEBS, PHR, or SHRM-CP certification is a welcome plus!
