Description
Based in Monticello, MN, or Dayton, MN, this role serves as a region's technical sales lead, supporting both turnkey project development and equipment-only engagements. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing, and advancing opportunities for solar PV, BESS, and EV DCFC solutions while helping uncover and cultivate early-stage opportunities across our broader distributed energy portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical sales efforts for commercial & industrial (C&I) and utility-scale solar PV, battery energy storage (BESS), and DC fast charging (DCFC) projects.
- Engage early with customers, consultants, utilities, developers, and EPC partners to influence project design and establish the basis of design.
- Conduct site assessments, feasibility analyses, energy evaluations, and distributed energy resource (DER) integration reviews.
- Interpret RFPs, bid specifications, utility interconnection requirements, permitting requirements, and engineering drawings.
- Collaborate with development, engineering, project management, procurement, and electrical subcontractors throughout the sales and project development process.
- Support solution development for integrated energy systems combining solar PV, energy storage, EV charging, and other distributed energy resources.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Renewable Energy, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; high school diploma required
- 2+ years of experience in technical sales, applications engineering, project development, or related roles within solar PV, BESS, EV charging, power systems, or distributed energy resources (DERs)
- Ability to interpret RFPs, technical specifications, engineering drawings, utility requirements, and interconnection documentation
- Understanding of solar PV systems, battery energy storage systems, DC fast charging infrastructure, and associated electrical equipment
- Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, power conversion equipment, and energy management concepts
- Strong communication, presentation, and customer-facing skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Must have and maintain a clean driving record to meet company insurability standards
- Experience supporting turnkey EPC projects as well as equipment-only and development-stage opportunities preferred
- Familiarity with commercial and utility-scale solar PV, BESS, EV charging infrastructure, and related DER technologies helpful
- Working knowledge of NEC, IEEE 1547, UL 9540/9540A, NFPA 855, utility interconnection standards, and EV charging codes and standards helpful
- Understanding of utility tariffs, load analysis, demand charge management, and energy optimization strategies preferred
- Ability to support basic financial evaluations, including ROI, IRR, NPV, and energy project economics helpful
- Experience working with utilities, AHJs, developers, EPC contractors, and commercial/industrial customers preferred

The total compensation (base plus incentive) for this position is
$90,700.00 to $136,000.00Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, and education. Along with competitive pay, full time positions are benefits eligible which includes:
