Salary: $19.23 per hour

Employment Status: Part-Time

Summary of Position:

Under the supervision of the Senior Director, Operations, or designee, the Evening Audiovisual (AV) Technician supports the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of audiovisual technologies used for meetings, presentations, training sessions, and hybrid broadcasts. The Evening AV Technician prepares meeting and event spaces, sets up and tests AV equipment, and provides on-site support to help ensure a seamless experience for staff, presenters, and guests. This is a part-time position supporting evening meetings and events, and availability during weekday evenings is required.

Requirements

Position Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and break down audiovisual equipment for meetings and live events.
  • Operate sound systems; manage microphones, video displays, monitors, recording equipment, mixing consoles, and associated cabling.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot AV equipment issues during meetings and events.
  • Track, organize, store, and maintain audiovisual equipment inventory.
  • Provide on-site technical support during meetings and events to ensure successful production outcomes.
  • Set up and operate professional audio and video systems.
  • Set up PTZ cameras, Mac OS X and Windows based audiovisual systems.
  • Assist with microphone placement and audio reinforcement for speakers and presenters. 
  • Respond to Information Technology support requests and provide basic AV technical support for hardware, software, and collaboration technologies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve user AV issues or escalate them when appropriate.


Education/Experience:

  • Experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting AV equipment, including audio, video, and video conferencing systems.
  • Familiarity with audio systems, microphones, cameras, video displays, and conferencing technologies.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift and move AV equipment and work flexible hours to support events.


Technical Requirements:

  • Ability to learn and support new software, AV equipment, and collaboration tools with training and guidance. 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications is helpful but not required. 
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new technologies and processes. 
  • Ability to follow instructions, troubleshoot basic issues, and provide support to staff and event participants.
