Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a QC Laboratory Technician to join our Resource Group Team at our Mumbai office. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Quality division at Ambernath site (On site job). This position will report to QA/QC Manager.

 

The primary role of this position within the Aquarius Ambernath, India is to manage, maintain and continually improve the Aquarius Quality Management System while safeguarding alignment with applicable ISO standards, EXCiPACT and regulatory requirements, compendial requirements, Ashland objectives and customer needs. Maintains site certifications as appropriate (i.e. ISO, EXCiPACT, FSSC, Organic, Kosher, Halal etc).

 

Key Responsibilities


  • Conduct raw material, in-process, and finished goods testing per the associated work instructions.
  • Prepare laboratory batches for new and existing products as needed.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly calibration verifications as scheduled.
  • Support complaint investigations.
  • Clearly label all samples, reagents, and equipment. Maintain detailed records of procedures and results.
  • Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and environmental procedures and guidelines.
  • Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to read, interpret, and report data.
  • Regularly work in the laboratory, walk, stand, and climb stairs and ladders.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs).
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail.
  • Regularly calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Review batch records and perform final product release through iLIMS as needed.
  • Perform daily and weekly housekeeping assignments.
  • Collaborate effectively as a team member and facilitate coordination within the team.
  • Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves, lab coats, safety shoes, and safety glasses.
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, raw materials for laboratory batches, and laboratory chemicals.
  • Adhere to good laboratory practices and established protocols for all activities.
  • Assist in miscellaneous QA activities including new product setup, customer information requests, training, internal audits, and process improvement activities.
  • Dispose of chemical waste properly according to regulations. Separate and dispose of different types of waste appropriately.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace. Clean equipment before and after use to prevent contamination.
  • Be familiar with emergency procedures, including the location of safety equipment and exits.
  • Handle samples with care to prevent contamination or loss. Follow proper storage and transportation protocols.
  • Maintain clear communication within the laboratory team. Report any deviations from procedures promptly.
  • Implement quality control measures to monitor and verify the reliability of results.
  • Adhere to ethical standards in research and data reporting. Avoid fabrication or falsification of data.
  • Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data. Implement measures to prevent data manipulation.
  • Conduct risk assessments for experiments and activities to identify potential hazards and implement necessary precautions.
  • Practice good document management.
  • Investigate Out-of-Specification (OOS) results.
  • Report laboratory deviations.
  • Monitor quality metrics.
  • Conduct stability testing.
  • Review product compliance with respective compendial standards.
  • Qualify new laboratory equipment.
  • Participate in ongoing training and continuous improvement initiatives to stay updated on best practices and new techniques.

 

Preferred Experience


  • B. Sc. in chemistry or biology or equivalent years of experience.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years laboratory experience in a regulated industry.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently as needed.
  • Competency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with SAP and LIMS.
  • Knowledge in cGMP, cGLP.
  • Knowledge of Laboratory Safety.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to read, interpret, and report data.
