Someone who has significant experience and connections within the payments world, primarily on alternative payment methods and higher risk merchants. Wide knowledge of the pricing of payment methods and possible solutions, with a particular focus on APAC and Middle East.
Your EDGE Assignment/You Will
- Build and manage strategic relationships with PSPs, acquiring banks, payment gateways and alternative payment providers globally, with a strong focus on Asia and Middle East.
- Sourcing new payment solutions, new partners and payment methods sourcing, due diligence, contracting, and coordinating Product, Tech, Compliance, Legal and Finance until it's live.
- Manage the commercial terms with payment providers. Own every negotiation on processing rates, settlement terms, reserves and limits, and they're responsible for payments costs for improving.
- Partner performance, working with Product, to track and act on approval rates, reliability, cost, settlement speed and operational risk. Then escalate, renegotiate or replace underperforming partners.
- Develop comprehensive local payment coverage across priority markets, including cards, bank transfers, wallets and alternative payment methods, with appropriate redundancy within the payment ecosystem to reduce over-reliance on individual providers or payment rails.
- Own and drive key initiatives within your area, ensuring alignment with Axi's strategic priorities and business objectives.
- Collaborate across departments to deliver programmes end-to-end with measurable, lasting impact.
- Ensure all activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements and Axi's internal policies.
- Undertake any additional responsibilities as assigned to support Axi's broader business objectives.
Are you the one?
- Demonstrable experience in Contract Negotiation, applied in a commercial environment.
- Demonstrable experience in Detailed Payments Knowledge, applied in a commercial environment.
- Demonstrable experience in External Relationship Management, applied in a commercial environment.
- 8+ years years of relevant experience, ideally within financial services, fintech, or a similarly complex global environment.
- Proven experience in a relevant role within a fast-paced, global organisation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with experience working across cross-functional teams.
- Proactive, self-driven mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Comfortable managing competing priorities and delivering to deadlines in an ambiguous environment.
Nice to have:
- Experience with Compliance And Regulatory Environment or similar is advantageous.
- Experience with Proven Record Of Internal Stakeholder Management or similar is advantageous.
- Experience in FX, CFD, online brokerage, crypto, gaming, Financial Services, FinTech, or Payments Processing Company.
- Experience launching payment solutions across multiple countries.
- Existing senior relationships across major PSPs, acquiring banks and payment companies in Asia and/or Middle Eastern.
- Understanding of payment routing, approval rates, fraud, chargebacks, settlement and payment optimisation.
- Exposure to high-growth, fast-paced global organisations.
