Account Manager
Full-Time | Permanent | Hybrid, Ontario | Competitive Base Salary + Commission
Asurtec is a technology and data partner dedicated to helping nonprofits, healthcare providers, and community organizations optimize their technology and increase their impact.
We are looking for an experienced, results-driven Account Manager to develop new business, grow existing client relationships, and help mission-driven organizations make confident technology decisions. This is a full-cycle sales role for someone who combines strong technical aptitude with a personable, consultative, and empathetic approach.
The Role
As Account Manager, you will own opportunities from prospecting and discovery through solution development, negotiation, closing, and ongoing account growth. You will build trusted relationships, uncover client needs, explain the value of Asurtec’s integrated IT, technology, data, and professional services, and consistently work toward defined sales goals.
You will collaborate with technical, service, procurement, finance, marketing, data, and consulting colleagues to create credible solutions, prepare proposals, and ensure smooth handoffs. The role offers a competitive base salary plus commission tied to agreed-upon sales targets.
What You Will Do
- Own qualified opportunities from initial discovery through proposal, negotiation, decision, and close.
- Achieve agreed sales, new-business, and revenue targets.
- Develop account plans and identify growth, renewal, upsell, and cross-sell opportunities, with a primary focus on existing client relationships while also pursuing new client opportunities.
- Lead discovery meetings, business reviews, technology roadmap discussions, and budget-planning conversations.
- Collaborate with internal specialists to develop and present accurate, practical, and persuasive solutions.
- Build trusted relationships and coordinate clear communication when client service, relationship, or delivery concerns arise.
- Maintain accurate opportunity, pipeline, activity, and forecast information in Freshsales CRM, and contribute to improvements in sales and marketing processes.
What You Bring
- A minimum of five (5) years of proven, successful sales experience, preferably in a B2B environment.
- Demonstrated experience selling IT, technology, data, or related professional services.
- Experience working for or selling on behalf of a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or similar technology-services organization.
- A proven record of achieving sales targets, developing new business, closing opportunities, and maintaining a strong client portfolio.
- Strong technical knowledge and aptitude, with the ability to understand emerging technologies and explain their value clearly, credibly, and persuasively.
- Strong prospecting, relationship-building, presentation, negotiation, objection-handling, and closing skills.
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in sales, marketing, business administration, or a related field—or an equivalent combination of education and successful sales experience.
- A proactive, results-oriented approach combined with a consultative, personable, and empathetic communication style.
- Experience with community agencies, nonprofits, charities, healthcare providers, or social-service organizations is an asset; an established professional network is also highly desirable.
- A valid Ontario driver’s licence and reliable transportation, with the ability to travel approximately 10–20% within Ontario as business needs require.
