ABOUT THE ROLE

As Senior Systems Engineer – Flight Control, you will own the system-level architecture, requirements, and integration of our Flight Control System (FCS), ensuring safe, reliable, and certifiable aircraft behavior.

You will be responsible for the definition and integration of the FCS, including its architecture, actuation, sensing, and interfaces to other aircraft systems. Working closely with control law, avionics, software, and mechanical teams, you will drive the system from requirements definition through integration, verification, and flight testing.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Define and maintain system requirements and airworthy architectures for the Flight Control System, including actuation, sensing, and interfaces.
• Develop validation and verification strategies at system, subsystem, and component level.
• Own the technical integration of the FCS across mechanical, electrical, avionics, software, and control law domains.
• Coordinate interfaces, responsibilities, and technical dependencies across internal teams.
• Lead technical discussions and alignment with suppliers of flight control components and systems.
• Support system integration, ground testing, and flight test activities.
• Ensure correct system-level behavior and compliance with applicable safety and certification requirements.
• Continuously improve technical concepts, development processes, tools, and methods.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in flight control systems, systems engineering, or a comparable aerospace environment.
• Strong experience in aerospace product development and requirements-driven systems engineering.
• Solid understanding of Flight Control System architectures, including actuation and sensing.
• Experience with safety-critical development processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured and target-oriented approach.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills.

WHAT WE OFFER

• Full-scale aerospace engineering, not concept slides
• A 60+ engineer team at Ottobrunn
• Real ownership and flat hierarchies: a modern startup culture where your input shapes decisions, not just execution
• Flexible working hours, remote work, and competitive compensation
• Health & wellbeing: EGYM Wellpass membership and subsidized lunch in our canteen
