Summary

The Group Leader – Project Support serves as the primary project manager and coordinator for Fronius USA automation projects. This role oversees project planning, execution, and delivery while ensuring effective coordination between customers, Fronius USA, and Fronius International.

Key responsibilities include managing project schedules, customer approvals, technical reviews, installation activities, commissioning, and final acceptance. The position drives collaboration across domestic and international teams, monitors project performance, mitigates risks, and ensures projects are completed on time, within scope, and to customer expectations.

The Group Leader – Project Support also provides leadership for the Project Support Team through resource planning, employee development, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with corporate project management standards and best practices.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Leads and coordinates Fronius USA automation projects from kickoff through customer acceptance.
  • Develops and maintains project plans in collaboration with customers, Fronius USA, and Fronius International.
  • Participates in technical coordination meetings to support project execution and alignment.
  • Serves as the primary customer contact during project execution.
  • Coordinates project technical checks, FAT, installation, SAT, final acceptance, and after sales customer support activities.  
  • Supports technical reviews, welding trials, project kickoff meetings, and design approval processes.
  • Monitors project schedules, risks, scope changes, and critical issues, implementing corrective actions as required.
  • Ensures compliance with corporate project management standards, processes, and work instructions.
  • Leads resource planning and workload management for the Project Support Team.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.

Leadership Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates regular collaboration meetings with Fronius USA and Fronius International teams regarding resource planning, strategic initiatives, training, quality, and operational performance.
  • Leads professional development initiatives aligned with business objectives and continuous improvement goals.
  • Manages team members in accordance with Fronius leadership principles.
  • Ensures effective employee training, development, and knowledge-sharing within the department.
  • Supports workforce and resource planning based on business needs and project demand.
  • Manages departmental budgets, cost center responsibilities, and team performance objectives.
  • Conducts and documents annual performance evaluations.
  • Supports recruitment and onboarding activities in collaboration with management and Human Resources.
  • Performs other leadership tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Welding Technology, Robotics, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • 2+ years of automation, robotics, or project coordination experience.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information and customer interactions professionally.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Self-motivated with a focus on continuous improvement and cost-effective solutions.
  • Regular travel, including international travel.
  • Valid passport, or ability to obtain one.

Health and Safety

  • Adhere to all Fronius USA and applicable regulatory health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to perform work in office, laboratory, manufacturing, and customer site environments.
  • Capable of standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, and performing repetitive motions as required.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
