FIDELITY MANUFACTURING is part of the Backup Power Generation industry. We design and build backup power packages, including tanks and enclosures, for healthcare, industrial, and technology-driven customers that require uninterrupted power at all times. Job Summary


The Stair Weld Assembler is responsible for assembling, fitting, and welding stair components according to engineering drawings, production schedules, and quality standards. This role supports the manufacturing process by ensuring stair assemblies are built safely, accurately, and efficiently while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience with fabrication, welding, hand tools, and blueprint reading is highly desirable.


Essential Job Functions


Assembly & Welding


Assemble and weld stair components according to blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.

Perform fit-up, tack welding, grinding, and final welding operations as required.

Build and assemble stair systems while maintaining dimensional accuracy and quality standards.

Verify proper alignment, fitment, and assembly of components prior to welding.

Support fabrication activities related to stair assemblies, platforms, handrails, and associated components.


Blueprint Reading & Measurement


Read and interpret measurements, fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and production specifications.

Accurately use tape measures and measuring devices to verify dimensions.

Follow engineering drawings and assembly instructions throughout the manufacturing process.

Ensure completed assemblies meet specified tolerances and requirements.


Equipment & Tool Operation


Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, grinders, and fabrication tools safely and effectively.

Assist with movement of materials and completed assemblies throughout production areas.

Operate forklifts and material handling equipment as trained and authorized.

Maintain equipment, tools, and workstations in proper working condition.

Support material staging and production readiness activities.


Quality & Production Support


Inspect materials and completed assemblies for accuracy and quality.

Maintain proper weld quality and appearance according to company standards.

Meet production schedules and departmental performance objectives.

Identify and communicate production issues, material shortages, or quality concerns to leadership.

Participate in continuous improvement efforts focused on quality, efficiency, and productivity.

Maintain organized and efficient work areas to support production flow.


Safety & Teamwork


Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.

Maintain a clean, organized, and production-ready work environment.

Work safely around welding equipment, forklifts, fabrication machinery, and production operations.

Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers to support department goals.

Support safety initiatives and participate in required training programs.

Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and accountability in all work activities.


Qualifications


Required Qualifications


High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Ability to read and interpret basic fabrication drawings, specifications, and work instructions.

Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.

Basic mathematical and measurement skills.

Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and manufacturing equipment.

Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Commitment to safe work practices and quality workmanship.

Background check and pre-employment drug screening required.


Highly Preferred


Prior manufacturing, fabrication, or welding experience.

Basic MIG welding experience.

Experience assembling welded products in a manufacturing environment.

Experience working with fabrication drawings and weld symbols.

Forklift operating experience.

Experience supporting startup operations or rapidly growing manufacturing facilities.


Preferred


Technical school, trade school, welding certification, or related training.

Experience with stair systems, handrails, platforms, or structural fabrication.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.

Experience with material handling equipment and production support activities.


Working Conditions


This position is performed in a manufacturing, production, and warehouse environment that may include indoor and outdoor work areas, some of which are not fully covered. Employees may be exposed to fluctuating temperatures, weather conditions, elevated noise levels, airborne particles, welding fumes, moving machinery, and uneven surfaces.


Work involves proximity to forklifts, fabrication equipment, welding operations, production machinery, and material handling activities. OSHA-compliant safety training, PPE, and safety procedures are provided and required at all times.


Physical Requirements


Frequent standing and walking for extended periods.

Repetitive use of hands, arms, and upper body.

Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, and climbing as required.

Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

Ability to safely operate tools, welding equipment, machinery, and production equipment.

Ability to read measurements using tape measures, rulers, gauges, and measuring tools.

Ability to visually inspect welds, assemblies, and completed products for quality and accuracy.

Ability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing required PPE.
