As Assistant Manager - Supply Chain, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the uninterrupted supply of castings and machined components that support Weir's manufacturing operations. What you'll do

- Supplier Development & Vendor Management: Develop and manage relationships with casting and machining suppliers to ensure consistent performance across quality, delivery, cost, and capacity requirements.
- Casting Procurement & Supply Assurance: Manage procurement activities for castings and machined components while ensuring uninterrupted supply to meet manufacturing schedules.
- Supplier Follow-up & Expediting: Drive supplier accountability through regular follow-ups, production tracking, and proactive resolution of delivery bottlenecks.
- Supplier Site Management: Conduct frequent visits to foundries and machining vendors to monitor production progress, support development activities, and ensure compliance with quality and delivery expectations.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with manufacturing, quality, engineering, planning, and sourcing teams to resolve operational challenges and support business objectives.
- ERP & Process Excellence: Utilize SAP and procurement systems to manage purchase orders, supplier performance, inventory requirements, and reporting activities.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve supplier performance, reduce lead times, optimize costs, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency.
What you'll bring
Must haves
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 8-12 years of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Vendor Development, Sourcing, or Supplier Management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience working with foundries, castings, machining vendors, and supplier development activities.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes, casting production, supplier quality, and procurement practices.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel regularly to supplier locations and vendor facilities.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in valve, pump, mining, heavy engineering, or industrial manufacturing industries.
- Working knowledge of SAP ERP systems and procurement modules.
- Experience managing supplier quality, development programs, and manufacturing supply chains.
- Exposure to high-volume manufacturing environments and complex supplier networks.
