M01 - Application DBA / Stored Procedure Developer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Application DBA / Stored Procedure Developer to support the migration of a legacy Sybase database environment to a modern SQL-based platform.

The role focuses on application-level database development, analysing existing stored procedures, re-engineering embedded business logic, and ensuring functional accuracy throughout the migration process.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse and document existing Sybase stored procedures and embedded business logic.
• Re-engineer and convert legacy stored procedures to T-SQL or an equivalent SQL dialect.
• Ensure converted stored procedures maintain functional accuracy and performance.
• Collaborate with application developers to resolve database and application logic dependencies.
• Support database schema migration and data integrity validation.
• Perform functional testing and validate converted database logic.
• Participate in database migration testing, deployment, and cutover activities.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in application-level database development or stored procedure engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Sybase stored procedures and database architecture.
• Proficiency in T-SQL or equivalent SQL technologies.
• Experience analysing and re-engineering complex database business logic.
• Experience in database migration, schema conversion, and functional validation.
• Familiarity with ETL pipelines and data migration methodologies is an advantage.
