Whether you’re stepping into alternative education from mainstream, returning after a break or bringing years of valuable SEN experience, your skills can transform a young person’s future.

We're currently looking for Education Specialists in Bury St Edmunds and surrounding areas to join our team in providing bespoke and holistic support to children and young people who are out of mainstream education. If you’re passionate about supporting learners with SEND and want a role where every day makes a difference, we would love to hear from you.

  • Delivering personalised, creative sessions that reflect each learner’s needs, interests and abilities
  • Monitoring and reporting on student progress after each session and setting clear, achievable targets to support ongoing development

  • Working flexibly (on a bank staff contract) and term-time only, with sessions typically lasting 3 to 5 hours during the school day

Who we’re looking for

  • Education professionals with at least one year experience supporting children and young people with SEN and SEMH needs

  • Individuals with a minimum of 2 consistent weekdays of availability
  • Professionals with up-to-date understanding of safeguarding and child protection

What you can expect from Fresh Start in Education

  • £25–£36 per hour, depending on experience
  • Travel subsidy & £15 per day resource allowance
  • Free access to counselling and wellbeing services, pension options and store discounts
  • CPD and training opportunities
