Our programs serve children ages 6 weeks to 12 years, including Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Pre-K, Before & After School Care, and Summer Camp.

At COA, we celebrate diversity, encourage collaboration, and empower our team members to bring their whole selves to work. Whether you're beginning your career or building on previous childcare experience, you'll have opportunities to learn, contribute, and grow.

What You'll Do

As an Assistant Teacher, you'll work alongside experienced educators to support daily classroom activities and create a safe, welcoming environment where children can learn through play, exploration, and discovery.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting daily lesson plans and age-appropriate learning activities.

  • Helping maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom.

  • Encouraging children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

  • Building positive relationships with children, families, and fellow educators.

  • Communicating professionally with parents and team members.

  • Observing children's progress and assisting with documentation and progress reports using classroom technology.

  • Responding to children's emotions with patience, empathy, and understanding.

  • Establishing consistent routines and developmentally appropriate expectations.

  • Collaborating with the teaching team to provide consistent, high-quality care.

  • Participating in professional development and preparing for future career advancement.

  • Patience, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to changing classroom needs.

  • A genuine interest in early childhood education and child development.

  • A willingness to learn, grow professionally, and pursue advancement opportunities.

Previous childcare experience is a plus, but a passion for working with children and a desire to learn are essential.
