About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly organised, customer-focused Senior Administrative Officer to join the University of Sydney for a short-term, two-week assignment from Friday 30 October – Friday 13 November 2026 (total of 11 working days initially).

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator with strong organisational skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to thrive in a busy office environment. The successful candidate will provide administrative support, manage calendars and emails, and help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of office operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • provide high-quality administrative support in a professional office environment
  • manage calendars, coordinate meetings, and maintain schedules
  • monitor and manage email correspondence, ensuring timely and professional responses
  • deliver excellent customer service to staff, students, and other stakeholders
  • use the Microsoft Office suite to support daily administrative tasks
  • navigate university administrative systems and processes as required
  • assist with general office coordination and administrative duties

About You

  • previous experience working in an office environment, with strong administrative skills
  • excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • strong written and verbal communication skills and a customer-service-oriented approach
  • confidence managing calendars, emails, and meeting coordination
  • proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • the ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and adapt quickly to a short-term assignment

Desirable: Previous experience using university administrative systems, such as Concur and Campus Assist. Experience gained at any university is welcome, and familiarity with university systems is an advantage rather than a requirement.
