[What the role is]
The Legal Branch in the Legal & Administration Department of EMA provides important legal and governance advice and counsel to EMA in relation to EMA’s functions, including matters pertaining to EMA’s legislation, regulatory functions, advice on a wide range of agreements and legal matters, and management of prosecution matters.You will work closely with EMA's policy, regulatory, technical and operational departments, the Attorney-General's Chambers, EMA’s external legal counsel and other internal and external stakeholders to provide necessary and relevant legal advice and support, and manage EMA's prosecution matters effectively.
[What you will be working on]
As part of EMA's legal team, the officer will provide advice and assistance to EMA's policy, regulatory, technical and line departments on a broad range of legal matters, including in relation to legislation, contracts, licensing and regulation, corporate/company law, intellectual property, enforcement, governance and compliance matters, among others.
The officer will be involved in the appointment of EMA's external legal panel, and instructing and managing EMA's external legal counsel, as well as liaising with the Attorney-General's Chambers on EMA's prosecution cases, legislation matters and for legal advice.
The officer will also be involved in reviewing internal legal and prosecution policies and processes regularly and managing the progress of prosecution cases according to timelines, as well as providing administrative support relating to legal matters.
[What we are looking for]
The candidate should possess an education in Law with relevant experience, and should have a keen eye for detail, and be able to work independently as well as in a team.
Experience in the energy sector, especially in the power and gas sectors, would be especially relevant.
