Senior Power Systems & Drives Engineer

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Power Systems & Drives Engineer to lead the development of advanced power electronics solutions that power our innovative products.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and delivering critical hardware platforms including motor drives, heater drives, power conversion systems, Active Power Factor Correction (APFC) solutions, and other high-performance power electronics subsystems. You will work with a multidisciplinary team of hardware, firmware, controls, mechanical, and system engineers to bring cutting-edge technologies from concept to production.

What You'll Do

Lead Power Electronics Development

•Design and develop motor drive hardware for high-performance electromechanical systems.

•Develop heater drive hardware and power control solutions.

•Design APFC circuits and power conversion systems to meet efficiency, performance, and regulatory requirements.

•Architect AC-DC and DC-DC power electronics solutions for next-generation products.

•Select and evaluate power semiconductor technologies including MOSFET, IGBT, SiC, and GaN devices.

Drive Technical Excellence

•Develop robust power stage, gate driver, sensing, protection, and thermal management designs.

•Perform circuit simulations, hardware validation, and design optimisation.

•Conduct root cause analysis and resolve complex technical issues.

•Drive design reviews and ensure hardware quality, reliability, manufacturability, and cost targets are achieved.

Shape Future Platforms

•Contribute to platform-level power architecture and technology roadmaps.

•Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends in power electronics.

•Influence technical decisions and architectural direction across multiple product programmes.

Collaborate Across Disciplines

•Partner closely with firmware, controls, systems, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality teams.

•Support product development from concept through production launch and sustaining activities.

•Work with suppliers and external partners to qualify components and technologies.

Mentor and Lead

•Provide technical leadership and coaching to other engineers.

•Establish engineering best practices, design standards, and lessons learned.

•Champion a culture of innovation, engineering rigour, and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications

•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Power Electronics, Mechatronics, or related disciplines.

•Minimum 8 years of industry experience in power electronics hardware design and development.

Essential Experience

•Motor drive hardware design (BLDC, PMSM, or similar motor technologies).

•Heater drive and power control systems.

•APFC power supply design.

•AC-DC and DC-DC converter design.

•High-power and high-efficiency power electronics systems.

•Product development from concept through production.

Technical Skills

•Strong understanding of power electronics topologies including:

➢PFC, Flyback, LLC, Buck, Boost, Half-Bridge, Full-Bridge

•Experience with:

➢Power semiconductor devices (MOSFET, IGBT, SiC, GaN)

➢Circuit simulation tools such as LTspice, PSpice, SIMPLIS, or MATLAB/Simulink

➢Hardware design tools such as Altium or Cadence

Preferred Experience

•EMI/EMC design and troubleshooting.

•Regulatory and safety compliance standards (IEC, UL, CE).

•Reliability engineering and failure analysis.

•Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT).
