Do you believe digital products and technologies have the power to improve learning outcomes, expand access to education, and create meaningful opportunities for learners at every stage of life? At Arizona State University's Learning Engineering Institute (LEI), we're advancing the science and practice of learning by designing innovative digital experiences, platforms, and technologies that transform how people learn.
Our LEI team is advancing what's possible in learning. Guided by principled innovation, we bring together expertise in learning science, product strategy, artificial intelligence, data science, technology, and human-centered design to develop evidence-based solutions that improve learner outcomes and create lasting impact.
As a Senior AI Product Manager, you'll lead the strategy, development, and continuous evolution of AI-enabled products that advance LEI's mission. Working across interdisciplinary teams, including research scientists, engineers, UX designers, developers, and data scientists, you'll define product vision, translate research and user insights into product strategy, and deliver data-driven solutions that improve learning experiences and measurable educational outcomes. You'll help shape products that leverage learning analytics, responsible AI, and emerging technologies while supporting LEI's portfolio of strategic, grant-funded research and innovation initiatives.
In this role, you'll help translate groundbreaking, grant-funded research into scalable AI-enabled products. You'll support initiatives exploring large-scale active learning enhanced by generative AI, AI-powered question generation that enables personalized learning pathways and real-time feedback, and privacy-preserving educational data platforms that enable secure AI and learning analytics research using synthetic data. If you thrive in an AI-first, data-intensive environment and are passionate about transforming research into products with measurable educational impact, you'll find meaningful opportunities to make a lasting impact at LEI.
Essential Duties:
- Stakeholder Collaboration, Product Strategy, and Prioritization: Build trusted relationships across LEI leadership, principal investigators, learning scientists, engineers, UX designers, data scientists, instructional designers, grant partners, and external collaborators. Translate strategic priorities, grant objectives, learning science research, user needs, and market trends into prioritized product roadmaps, measurable success metrics, and outcome-based investments.
- Product Execution and Delivery: Lead multiple products and initiatives from concept through launch by defining requirements, managing priorities, dependencies, risks, and evolving scope. Drive timely delivery through proactive communication, sound judgment, and accountability for outcomes.
- Customer Discovery and Cross-Functional Collaboration: Synthesize insights from learner research, faculty and partner engagement, learning analytics, and evidence-based research to define product requirements and collaborate across research, engineering, design, and leadership teams to deliver scalable AI-enabled solutions.
- Product Communication, Launch, and Adoption: Communicate product vision, strategy, progress, and impact through presentations, demonstrations, and written materials. Lead varied product launches, develop user guides and training resources, and partner across units to drive adoption through effective communication and change management.
- Experimentation, Measurement, and Continuous Improvement: Define product success through analytics, experimentation, and evidence-based evaluation. Monitor product performance, measure impact and ROI, and use insights to guide continuous product improvement.
- Professional Engagement and Ownership: Demonstrate ownership by driving workstreams to completion, incorporating stakeholder feedback into product decisions, operating effectively in ambiguous environments, and producing clear, concise artifacts that support alignment and informed decision making.
