Position Overview

We are seeking detail-oriented Precision Mechanical Assemblers to build and test small, complex mechanical and electromechanical components used in commercial aviation, military aircraft, and ground vehicle applications.

This position involves precision assembly of fuel pumps, pneumatic valves, and related components requiring exceptional manual dexterity, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience assembling small, intricate products using precision hand tools, measuring instruments, and technical work instructions. Assemblies may contain approximately 60–150 individual components, requiring careful attention to accuracy, fit, function, and quality.

Unlike traditional assembly-line production, this position operates in small manufacturing cells where team members collaborate closely to assemble products from start to finish.

Candidates with experience in precision mechanical assembly, automotive repair, electromechanical assembly, or relevant technical training are encouraged to apply.

This is an opportunity for individuals seeking long-term employment and professional growth in a precision manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assemble small, complex mechanical and electromechanical components according to established work instructions and engineering specifications.
  • Build precision fuel pumps, pneumatic valves, and related assemblies used in aerospace and defense applications.
  • Perform detailed assembly operations involving multiple small parts and components.
  • Use precision hand tools, mechanical tools, and measuring instruments to complete assembly tasks.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, assembly diagrams, and written work instructions.
  • Follow detailed assembly procedures to ensure correct component placement, alignment, and fit.
  • Perform basic measurements and dimensional checks using appropriate inspection tools.
  • Operate test stands and related equipment to verify assembled product performance.
  • Inspect components and completed assemblies to ensure compliance with established quality standards.
  • Identify assembly issues, troubleshoot mechanical problems, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Work collaboratively with team members in small manufacturing cells to meet production and quality objectives.
  • Maintain accurate production and assembly documentation.
  • Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and production performance.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability when learning new assembly processes and manufacturing procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and quality personnel.
  • Perform additional assembly and production support duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 6 months of hands-on mechanical manufacturing assembly experience involving the assembly of complete products, or relevant mechanical or technical education.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and experience working with hand tools, mechanical components, or precision equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, assembly diagrams, and written work instructions.
  • Experience using hand tools and basic measuring instruments.
  • Ability to perform detailed assembly tasks involving small, intricate components.
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and measurements.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot mechanical assembly problems.
  • Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a small-team manufacturing environment.
  • Dependable work habits, consistent attendance, and a commitment to long-term employment.
  • Willingness to learn new processes, accept feedback, and adapt to changing production requirements.
  • Ability to successfully complete a manual dexterity assessment as part of the hiring process.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years of mechanical assembly, precision manufacturing, or related hands-on technical experience.
  • Experience assembling small mechanical or electromechanical products from start to finish.
  • Experience working with pumps, motors, valves, hydraulic components, or electronic assemblies.
  • Previous experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or precision manufacturing environments.
  • Automotive mechanical repair experience involving small components and precision tools.
  • Experience using micrometers, calipers, torque tools, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Previous soldering experience.
  • Technical or vocational education in mechanical technology, machining, electronics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working in manufacturing cells or small collaborative production teams.
  • Familiarity with product testing, quality inspection, and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated history of stable employment and long-term professional commitment.

Physical Requirements

  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling small, intricate components.
  • Ability to perform repetitive precision assembly tasks throughout the workday.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read technical drawings, inspect small parts, and identify assembly defects.
  • Ability to use hand tools, measuring instruments, and assembly equipment safely and accurately.
  • Ability to sit, stand, reach, bend, and perform detailed mechanical work as required.
  • Ability to complete a manual dexterity assessment during the hiring process.
