We are looking for a Junior Environmental Analyst to join our team in Rio de Janeiro.


Under the supervision of the Environmental Manager, the Junior Environmental Analyst will support the development and implementation of environmental activities related to Viridien's projects, with a particular focus on environmental licensing, monitoring and compliance.


The role will support the preparation and follow-up of environmental documentation, coordination with consultants and regulatory authorities, monitoring of environmental commitments, and implementation of environmental programs associated with our activities in Brazil and, when required, other projects across Latin America.


Key Responsibilities


  • Support environmental licensing processes and the preparation, review and follow-up of environmental documentation.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of environmental programs, commitments and license requirements associated with company projects.
  • Support the coordination and follow-up of activities with environmental consultants and other external service providers under the supervision of the Environmental Manager.
  • Assist with interactions and technical documentation required by environmental and governmental authorities.
  • Organize, track and maintain environmental records, permits, reports and compliance documentation.
  • Support environmental monitoring activities, including waste management, emissions, effluents, chemical use and other applicable environmental requirements.
  • Support the monitoring of relevant environmental legislation and regulatory requirements and their implementation within company projects.
  • Contribute to environmental reporting, internal presentations and project documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to environmental processes, sustainability and environmental performance.
  • Collaborate with internal multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders in Brazil and, when required, across Latin America.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to continuous learning, with the ability to adapt to evolving technologies, priorities and project requirements.

Qualifications


Required


  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Oceanography, Environmental Engineering or a related environmental discipline.
  • Initial professional experience or relevant internship experience in environmental projects, environmental licensing or environmental management.
  • Basic knowledge of Brazilian environmental legislation and environmental licensing processes.
  • Good organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage documentation and follow-up activities.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, consultants and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced English, both written and spoken.
  • Fluent Portuguese, both written and spoken.

Preferred


  • Experience in or exposure to the Oil & Gas, offshore or marine environment.
  • Familiarity with environmental licensing processes involving regulatory and governmental authorities.
  • Experience or familiarity with environmental monitoring programs.
  • Familiarity with official environmental databases and regulatory reporting systems, including data entry, quality control and management of environmental information required by government agencies.
  • Knowledge of GIS software and geospatial data analysis, such as ArcGIS or QGIS.
  • Familiarity with environmental management systems and compliance processes.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.
