About the Role

The Corporate team at S&P Global Ratings delivers independent credit opinions on corporate issuers across Latin America, combining rigorous financial analysis with forward-looking market insights. The team values analytical precision, continuous improvement, and the responsible integration of modern analytical tools. As an Associate Director, you will serve as a senior analytical and coaching presence for junior colleagues while contributing directly to the independent credit opinions that investors and market participants across the region rely on.

What You'll Do

Impact

In this role, you will own end-to-end credit analysis for an assigned portfolio of corporate issuers while serving as the senior analytical reference point for the team — driving quality, consistency, and market-relevant insights across one of the world's most dynamic emerging market regions.

Responsibilities

Team Contribution & Capability Building

  • Serve as the senior coaching presence for junior analysts on credit fundamentals, financial modeling, data quality, and responsible AI use; coordinate portfolio work, proactively manage capacity and quality risks, and drive continuous improvement through refined analytical playbooks and standard processes

Core Analytical & Delivery

  • Execute end-to-end credit analysis for an assigned portfolio of corporate issuers, maintaining consistently high standards of quality, timeliness, and analytical clarity
  • Lead surveillance and analytical updates connecting issuer performance and market developments to forward-looking risk themes, with rigorous validation and documentation of analytical assumptions
  • Use approved generative AI tools to accelerate research, drafting, and peer comparisons, maintaining full accountability for all outputs

Stakeholder & Market Engagement

  • Translate complex data and research into market-facing narratives that communicate S&P Global's analytical viewpoint to issuers, investors, and senior market participants; contribute to thought leadership by researching, drafting, and refining market-facing content with senior team input

Risk Management and Operating

  • Maintain adherence to methodology, confidentiality, and governance requirements; escalate emerging risks promptly; embed responsible AI practices and support the safe, monitored scaling of automation to remove low-value tasks

What We're Looking For

Required Skills and Experience

  • An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 5–10 years of relevant experience in corporate credit analysis or a related financial services field.
  • Proven credit and financial analysis skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, decision-useful insights grounded in evidence and sound judgment
  • Strong understanding of the financial services environment and the ability to connect market and sector developments to emerging credit risk themes
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for committee-ready documentation and senior-level engagement with issuers, investors, and market participants
  • Proven experience coaching or mentoring junior analysts, with a track record of raising analytical quality through structured feedback and review

Preferred or Helpful Experience

  • Experience integrating generative AI or large language model tools into analytical workflows, with disciplined governance, validation, and responsible use practices
  • Experience with data or automation tools relevant to credit analysis, including the ability to support the testing and adoption of new capabilities
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with evidence of simplifying analytical processes through standardization, tooling, or automation
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. A master's degree or professional certification (such as CFA) is highly valued. We welcome candidates from traditional finance disciplines as well as diverse academic backgrounds that support innovative and critical thinking.

Additional Information

  • We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.
  • Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.
