Project Management Intern – Summer 2027
Location: Brookfield, WI Pay: $24.00–$26.00 per hour Position Type: Full-Time, Summer Internship Duration: 10–12 Weeks Schedule: Approximately 40 hours per week
About Lemberg Electric
Lemberg Electric is a growing, 100% employee-owned company and one of Southeastern Wisconsin's larger electrical contractors. We take pride in delivering quality work, providing excellent customer service, and creating an environment where employees can grow and succeed.
Our teams have worked on some of the area's most recognizable projects, including Mayfair Mall, Bayshore, Milwaukee Art Museum, Harley Davidson, Children's Hospital, Milwaukee Tool Downtown Corporate Headquarters, Foxconn, IKEA, Deer District Buildings, Wisconsin Center District, and many others.
At Lemberg, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to meaningful projects, and gain valuable insight into the electrical construction industry.
About the Internship
We are looking for a motivated Project Management Intern to join our Construction team for Summer 2027!
This internship provides hands-on experience in project management within the electrical construction industry. You'll work alongside our project management team and gain exposure to both the pre-construction and construction processes.
Approximately 60% of your time will be spent in the office and 40% in the field. This combination will give you a unique opportunity to connect what happens during estimating, planning, and design with how projects are actually executed in the field.
The internship will run approximately 10–12 weeks, averaging 40 hours per week. We understand that students have different academic schedules, so actual start and end dates are flexible and will be tailored to accommodate your school schedule.
If you enjoy problem-solving, working with a team, and seeing projects come together, this is a great opportunity to put your education into practice.
What You'll Do
- Assist with the contractor bid process, including layout, design, and cost estimating.
- Help coordinate project planning, scheduling, timelines, and resources.
- Support Project Managers in tracking project progress and maintaining project documentation.
- Help coordinate communication between clients, subcontractors, and internal team members.
- Participate in project meetings and discussions regarding project updates and challenges.
- Conduct research and analysis to support project decisions.
- Assist with preparing project reports, presentations, and other documentation.
- Help maintain accurate and organized project files.
- Contribute to the development of project safety and quality assurance plans.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the project management team.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in Project Management, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of project management principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous internship or experience in construction or electrical contracting.
- Interest in pursuing a career in the electrical construction industry.
- Currently in your junior or senior year of college.
- Familiarity with project management software such as Microsoft Project, Trello, or Asana.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and industry standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Why Join Lemberg Electric?
- 100% Employee-Owned: Become part of a company where employees have a stake in our success.
- Competitive Pay: Earn $24–$26 per hour.
- Hands-On Experience: Gain practical experience working on real electrical construction projects.
- Learn from Experienced Professionals: Work alongside Project Managers and other members of our Construction team.
- Office and Field Exposure: See firsthand how projects move from planning and estimating to actual construction.

Equal Opportunity Employer
Lemberg Electric is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status under applicable law.
One small recommendation: I like explicitly stating that the dates will accommodate the student's school schedule. That could help attract students who finish their spring semester later or need to return to campus earlier in August.
