Staff Accountant

Description

We are seeking a detailed and experienced Staff Accountant. The accountant will be responsible for managing the day-to-day inventory accounting and assisting with the preparation of financial reporting. This position plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of the company’s financial data and driving process improvements within the accounting function. The ideal candidate will partner with our business and team members to drive efficiency, transparency, and cost savings. This is a hybrid work schedule that requires at least two days onsite at our Burr Ridge location, with no exceptions.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•  Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Own the supplier inventory billing portal, prepare invoices for timely payment, and reconcile payment activity.
• Assist with the implementation of AI to drive efficiency, accuracy, and visibility.
• Work with our business partners at Amazon to track and resolve disputes.
• Assist with audit requests.
• Maintain, update, and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure and enhance accuracy, efficiency, and automation.
• Support the Accounting Team with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

•   Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• 1 - 3 years of Accounting experience
• CPA and/or Public Audit Experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements and internal control.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Proficient in accounting software (Microsoft Business Central, Power BI, SQL) preferred.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $66,200 to $99,500 annually, reflecting the anticipated compensation at the time of posting. Final placement within this range will be determined by several factors, including—but not limited to—education, certifications, relevant experience, skills, travel requirements, and overall business needs.
