Job Title
Rabobank Traineeship Wholesale Banking - Trading & TreasuryJob Description
Rabobank Traineeship Wholesale Banking | Trading & Treasury
Would you like to learn how financial markets operate in practice and contribute to trading, treasury and balance sheet management?
Summary
As a Wholesale Banking Trainee at Rabobank, you will learn how financial markets operate in practice and contribute to trading, treasury and risk management activities. You will work alongside experienced professionals and develop your analytical, commercial and personal leadership skills. The Treasury and Trading departments work closely together where you will become part of high-impact teams that sit at the heart of our organization’s financial engine. From day one, you’ll work alongside seasoned professionals, gain hands-on experience in trading, liquidity management and build the skills to become a future leader in finance.
The Trading team acts as market maker and provides competitive pricing and liquidity to clients. This means that Trading warehouses risk or lays-off risk direct in the market. When direct lay-off is not suitable, risk positions that have been acquired from clients (‘risk on’) can either be redistributed to other clients (‘risk off’) or managed through risk transformation (‘hedging’). Additionally, Trading manages risk positions, within appropriate risk limits, and benefits from yield curve and curve movements. The market positions are based on extensive fundamental and technical market analysis, comprehensive market research and current market behaviour.
Treasury plays a key role in managing the bank’s own interest rate, liquidity and FX-risk positions that have a significant impact on its risk profile and results. Our value chain ranges from taking in raw-data and modelling to balance sheet steering and execution of transactions in financial markets.
At a glance:
- Work on trading and treasury activities within Wholesale Banking.
- Learn from experienced professionals in financial markets, liquidity management and risk management.
- Contribute to transactions, analysis and market-related decision-making.
What will you learn and do as a Wholesale Banking Trainee?
During your rotations in Trading and Treasury, you will learn how client needs, market developments and Rabobank’s balance sheet come together. Depending on your assignment, you will:
- Support the structuring, origination and execution of transactions within Trading and Treasury.
- Analyse client, market and risk-position data to develop trading ideas, hedging solutions and input for balance sheet steering.
- Prepare and share market intelligence, trends, market dynamics and trading strategies with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist traders with daily activities, position management and collaboration with Sales.
- Learn how derivative products, liquidity management, foreign exchange risk and interest rate risk are managed in practice.
- Build a strong internal network and contribute proactively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
