Description
Essential functions:
- Drives one of several different coaches or vans in a safe, courteous and reliable manner along a designated route within a defined time schedule.
- Notifies central dispatch of deviations, overload, accident or passenger incidents.
- Notifies central dispatch of passenger’s medical or behavioral problems and bus mechanical or electrical trouble.
- Stops at designated points to load and/or unload passengers
- Sees that fares are deposited into the fare box, distributes transfers and dispenses information.
- Advises passengers of rules and regulations when necessary.
- Completes and submits written reports concerning passenger incidents, preventable and non-preventable accidents.
- Operates fare box and destination signs.
- Records passenger counts.
- Assists dispatcher and staff in collecting national transit database data via the radio system.
- Announces stops to the public.
- Attend required training and meetings.
Other job functions:
- Assumes additional responsibilities as required.
High school diploma or equivalent. CDL B or higher with passenger endorsement. Clean driving record.
Must be willing to work departmental shift hours as assigned.
