Bring joy, creativity, and connection to every day.
At Village Shores, our Reflections Memory Care neighborhood is a place where every day holds a chance for a smile, a song, or a spark of memory. We’re looking for an energetic, creative Memory Care Activities Assistant to help us plan and lead the programs that make that happen.
If you love bringing people together, can turn an ordinary afternoon into something special, and have a heart for seniors living with dementia, we’d love to meet you.
A Day in the Life Might Include:
- Leading a sing-along of favorite songs from the ’50s and ’60s
- Guiding a hands-on art, baking, or gardening project
- Hosting reminiscence groups that spark stories and conversation
- Running gentle exercise, chair yoga, or movement activities
- Creating calming sensory experiences for residents who need a quieter moment
- Celebrating birthdays, holidays, and themed events with residents and families
- Sharing one-on-one time with residents who prefer smaller interactions
What You’ll Do:
- Partner with the Program Director to plan, lead, and evaluate a full calendar of engaging programs in our Reflections neighborhood
- Adapt activities to each resident’s abilities, interests, and life story so everyone can take part in a way that feels meaningful
- Notice what’s working (and what isn’t) and bring fresh ideas to keep programs creative and engaging
- Build warm relationships with residents, families, care staff, and community partners
- Help create activity calendars, newsletters, and family communications
- Stay informed about community programs and procedures so you can answer questions and help families feel connected
Why You’ll Love It Here:
- Meaningful Work: See the difference you make every day in residents’ smiles and moments of connection
- Creative Freedom: Bring your own ideas, talents, and hobbies to our programming
- Competitive Pay: $23 - $29/hour, with credit given for experience
- Steady Schedule: Full-time days, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with rotating weekends (required)
- Supportive Team: We care about your wellness as much as our residents’
- Quick Hiring: Apply today and hear back within 48 hours
What You’ll Bring:
- At least 1 year of experience in activity programming (memory care preferred) or as a caregiver
- Working knowledge of dementia and other memory care diagnoses, plus documented Alzheimer’s and dementia training
- A positive, patient, and creative approach to engaging residents
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- The ability to take initiative independently and work well as part of a team
- The physical, mental, and emotional energy to keep residents active and engaged
- High school diploma or GED
Benefits Available to You:
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Paid Time Off and Holiday Pay
- 401k (eligible to contribute after 30 days)
- Health Savings Account
