Job Description

Rabobank Traineeship Finance & Risk

Would you like to discover how a leading bank makes sound financial decisions, manages risk and helps prevent financial economic crime, while building on your own strengths? Our traineeship in Finance & Risk might be a match for you!

Summary

As a trainee at Rabobank, you will gain hands-on experience across the Finance, Risk and Financial Economic Crime (FEC) domains. During the 18-month programme, you will complete four rotations and contribute to real business challenges that matter to the bank and its customers.

Depending on your rotations, you may help explain financial results, support decisions about risks, test how the bank performs in difficult scenarios, strengthen customer integrity or improve the way teams work. You do not need to have your career mapped out already: experienced colleagues, a talent manager and your trainee community will help you learn, contribute and discover where you can make the greatest difference.

What will you learn and do as a trainee?

  • Learn how teams in the Finance, Risk and Financial Economic Crime domains help Rabobank stay financially strong, manage risks responsibly and protect customers and society.
  • Analyse information and turn it into clear insights for reporting, financial steering, risk management or regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to projects on topics such as climate risk, bank-wide stress testing, customer integrity or business change.
  • Combine your day-to-day work with training, development activities and side projects, learning to set priorities along the way.

At a glance

  • Complete four rotations across the Finance, Risk and Financial Economic Crime domains.
  • Participation in the SPARK program; focussing on your personal development & soft skills.
  • Starting date: 1 April 2027.
  • Salary: €3,600 gross per month.
  • Weekly hours: 36.

Skills, tools and areas of expertise you have (or you are keen to learn)

  • Problem-solving and change agility.
  • SQL, Python or R & Power BI.
  • Professional collaboration, communication and storytelling.

Work on yourself & the world around you

For us, your development and that of society go hand in hand. That is why we want to invest in you and work together to create a better world. We summarise this in one sentence: at Rabobank, you work on yourself and the world around you at the same time. You will contribute to this by working with other trainees on a business challenge and develop a practical solution to a relevant issue within Rabobank.

Why everyone is welcome at Rabobank

At Rabobank, we want everyone to feel welcome and able to contribute. We value different cultures, experiences and ways of thinking because they help us collaborate effectively and make better decisions. Whether you studied in the Netherlands or abroad, and whether or not you already see yourself as a typical banking professional, we encourage you to apply if this opportunity interests you.

What do you bring?

And how would you apply it during the traineeship if everything is possible? 3.
