At Puyallup Tribal Health Authority (PTHA), healthcare is about more than treating illness — it’s about building relationships, honoring culture, and promoting whole-person wellness. We’re seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Pharmacist who is passionate about patient-centered care, collaborative practice, and helping our community live healthier lives. Join a team where your clinical expertise, heart to serve, and commitment to culturally respectful care can make a meaningful difference every day.

Location: Puyallup Tribal Health Authority | Tacoma, WA

Schedule: Full-Time | Mon – Fri, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Hiring Range: $157,089.94 - $196,372.80 per year

Position Close Date: November 10, 2026

As a Clinical Pharmacist, your expertise will directly support the health of the community. You'll participate in collaborative care, chronic condition management, and community education, making a difference where it truly matters. If you thrive in a team-based environment and want to practice at the top of your license while serving a vibrant community, this is your opportunity.

How You'll Make an Impact:

As a Clinical Pharmacist and key member of our primary care team, you will play a vital role in optimizing patient outcomes through direct care and provider collaboration:

  • Review patient medical records and medication regimens to identify medication-related concerns, provide medication reconciliation recommendations, and collaborate with providers to support safe, effective, and appropriate treatment.
  • Provide chronic care management and chronic non-cancer pain management through independent patient visits and collaborative care, including participation in medication therapy management programs such as diabetes management, tobacco cessation, and anticoagulation services.
  • Manage medication refills for established patients as the primary point of contact within the care team, unless otherwise directed by the provider.
  • Support providers and the interdisciplinary care team with clinical consultation within scope of practice, including laboratory interpretation, non-urgent medical questions, and prior authorization reviews.
  • Counsel and educate patients on the safe and appropriate use of medications and medical devices during in-person or approved off-site encounters.
  • Develop, deliver, and participate in medication and drug education programs for residents, providers, and clinical team members.
  • Maintain current knowledge of medications, treatment guidelines, and disease states to support clinically appropriate prescribing protocols, prior authorization decisions, and evidence-based medication use.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of medication management protocols, clinical review criteria, and formulary recommendations based on best practices, clinical efficacy, cost-effectiveness, contract availability, and third-party billing considerations; communicate recommendations to clinical leadership.
  • Document patient encounters, clinical recommendations, and related activities accurately and promptly in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Participate in peer review of fellow Clinical Pharmacists in accordance with the applicable Collaborative Drug Therapy Agreement.

Why Practice at PTHA?

As a Clinical Pharmacist at Puyallup Tribal Health Authority (PTHA), you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact beyond dispensing medications. Through direct patient care, medication therapy management, and collaboration with providers, you’ll help patients better understand their treatment options, manage chronic conditions, and achieve improved health outcomes. Your clinical knowledge will also help shape medication management practices and support the continued growth of our clinical team.
